Just letting you know since you're going miniITX, you will want to go with a blower style cooler on whatever GPU you decide to get. An open air style cooler will vent too much hot air into that case and will have a very hard time getting rid of it and it will make a big difference in temps.

Just get a regular mid size case for your first build. Better for cooling, dust, convenience etc. If you got 3k budget just get a 1080 and an i7 with 16gb of ram. Be sure to get a 512 gb SSD for games and OS, then a couple terabyte hard drive for everything else. 700 watt PSU and up should be plenty. I know you don't want a disk drive but they're cheap and you should get one just in case. Don't forget you'll need windows 10 as well.
