Infamous: Second Son Discussion

I'm going to transplant the "vs. Titanfall" discussion to a new thread in the MP forum. Let's keep this thread focused on Infamous.

I'm kinda shocked Infamous is only 24 gig? For an open world game with those kinds of visuals, doesn't that seem kinda small...?

Having been available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store (US, Canada – includes Cole’s Legacy DLC and more) for some time now, you’ve probably been wondering just how much space inFamous: Second Son will take up on your PS4 HDD when the game launches on Friday, March 21st.

Over on the EU PS Blog today, SCEE Blog Manager Fred Dutton confirmed that the game will have a 24GB file size when you go to download it through the PlayStation Store in Europe. Since the EU versions of games have bigger file sizes due to the extra languages, expect Second Son in North America to take up a bit less than 24GB.

While the North American digital pre-order of Second Son automatically includes the Limited Edition, things will be a little different in Europe when the digital version of the game launches at midnight on March 21st (there won’t be any pre-orders). Pricing hasn’t been announced, but Second Son will be sold by itself, or in a Legacy Edition with the Cole’s Legacy DLC and some vests. If pricing for these two versions is revealed prior to launch, we’ll let you know.

Not really as it will just reuse the same textures and mix and match them to make new areas. Skyrim is f***ing huge and is under 4GB on 360 but game just reuses the same textures over and over again with different placement.

Possibly lots of repeated textures and simple gameplay. Skyrim is a huge game with lots of chitchat but I'm pretty sure the install size on 360 was actually reasonably small.

WTF does simple game play have to do with a games size and how does game size prove game play anything? do you know how f***ing stupid you sound sometimes? also you stole my skyrim exp before I posted it.

IGN Live Presents Infamous: Second Son

On Thursday, March 6th at 11am PT, come back to this very page and take a long, hard, close look at what Sucker Punch has been cooking up for you in its Seattle-area office. I went to the studio last week and happened to play the section we’ll be showing you during the stream, and needless to say, you have every reason to be excited.

I bookmarked it. Looking forward to an hour of awesomeness :)

What Happened Between inFAMOUS 2 and PS4 Exclusive inFAMOUS: Second Son?
Posted Mon 3rd Mar 2014 23:45 by Sammy Barker

Downloadable expansion will fill in the blanks

Just like Killzone: Shadow Fall before it, inFAMOUS: Second Son represents a new start for Sucker Punch’s superhero series. However, just because it’s moving to a fresh location and introducing a new protagonist in the process, that doesn’t mean that you should erase the events of the previous instalments from your memory. After all, we’ve already caught a glimpse of previous hero Cole MacGrath’s new electronics shop in downtown Seattle – and now Sony has shared a few more details on the title’s upcoming ‘Cole’s Legacy’ expansion pack.

Available for free with a pre-order in North America and as part of a Special Edition bundle in Europe, this content promises to take you and new lead Delsin Rowe on a journey that will provide you with “unique insight into how the world of [the sequel] came to be”. According to product manager Nathalia Chubin, the bonus storyline will outline how proceedings in New Marais “set in motion a chain of events leading to the now forceful occupation of Seattle by the oppressive Department of Unified Protection”.

If you’re planning to purchase the title digitally in Europe, you’ll have two options available. One will come with the vanilla game, while the second will include the abovementioned expansion and a series of exclusive jackets for the streetwise star to wear. It’s also worth noting that you’ll unlock a top inspired by the previous protagonist if you beat all of the missions included as part of the add-on pack. The platform holder’s yet to announce how much extra you’ll need to pay for these goodies, but we’re hopeful that they won’t break the bank.

Are you willing to pay more to bridge the gap between inFAMOUS’ two most recent mainline escapades, or do you think that this kind of practice needs burning like an oppressive government organisation? Drain our powers in the comments section below.

Is this game finally gonna have an actual day/night cycle where it changes like GTA5, or will it be like the last 2?

Cant wait!! This will be the first retail PS4 game that I buy. (So far Ive just been playing PS+ Freebies)

Since the setting for this game assumes the "good ending" happened in Infamous 2, I watched that ending on Youtube last night (I've always played "bad" in Infamous games, as it seems a lot more entertaining). I seriously had no idea what was going on. I didn't remember hardly any of the characters, didn't remember "The Beast", didn't remember any of the plot points. It's funny, I considered myself a "big" Infamous series fan, as I did a ton of trophy hunting and felt like I played the crap out of both games, but this is one of those franchises where I guess the "gameplay" is what I come for, not the story. I've noticed that is starting to happen a lot, even with supposed "good" games, the stories are ridiculous and forgettable.

Don't worry. I don't remember anything about anything either. s***, I got married in August. I'm pretty sure I was there; I have pictures to prove it.

I play through games, watch movies and cant remember what happened in them.

Don't forget. IGN will be live streaming an hour of the game tomorrow(Thursday)

Finally got around to pre-ordering it. Really haven't been following it or the release date so nice that it's only a little over two weeks away. My PS4 needs some loving.

Pre-ordered mine yesterday too when I traded in Lego Marvel Super Heroes. Base value was $23, got bumped up to $30 due to current promotion and I had some in-store credit left so I figured why not since it came with a free poster if you preordered from EBGames. I'm just sad that Canadian game prices have increased $10 to $69.99 now which is so bs.

I finally preordered it last night as well. I have a feeling I'm going to feel overwhelmed with games in a few weeks here.

Haha I traded that game in towards my infamous pre order last week too and it ended up paying it off, I got $33 for it though.

Was that the base value? Damn. Oh well, can't argue much over $3.

That was with my power up rewards membership and the 30% extra because it was a trade in towards that game. Maybe the extra $3 was the 10% for the rewards card?
