When I was in high school, I used to dream of becoming a billionaire so I could do stuff exactly like this without the need for taxpayer intervention and stuff like that because Congress was dragging their heels on plans for the moon and Mars in the late 90s and we'd had those movies about asteroid collisions nearly destroying humanity and how woefully unprepared we were for things like that, etc. etc. As I've gotten older I realize that to become a billionaire, to be the Musk or Bezos literally doing the thing I dream of as a kid, you have to make life particularly hellish for a lot of people by not just helping to make the existing society on Earth better for as many as possible. So, kinda f*** those guys and get them to pay taxes so we can accomplish the things that actually need to get done here on Earth, especially in America, a place that doesn't value education or health, before we turn our expensive eyes to the heavens.

Maybe these a******s looking down will see the hurricanes, the forest fires, or the insane pipeline accident in the gulf and start pondering radical ideas like planet sustainability.

They know, but people in positions like Bezos tend to be psychopaths so even if they notice their ego will just move on the next instant to whatever it needs at the moment to feel good. And based on what i've read about Amazon's inner cutthroat culture and their predatory tactics towards competition, you can bet Bezos is a serious psychopath.
 
It's hilarious how many times they've mentioned the Karman line. Bozos so salty about being beaten to space by Branson.
