As with all AC games, this could be awesome but probably won't be.

I lost the plot after AC2, now cant be bothered to pick up the franchise

I just hope the game is better put together and just all around more fun than Unity, that's the only AC game I didn't finish.

The last AC I beat was 2, last one I played and randomly quit was Black Flag. The series just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Same here. I find it ridiculous that Ubi thinks this franchise is worthy of a yearly release, but hey....if it keeps selling like hotcakes, Ubi's not gonna stop. I'd much rather see a new Prince of Persia game than this. The setting of this is cool, but i bet it will be the same damn stuff like Unity and all the others.

I can't say too much about Ubisoft releasing AC games yearly because I'm a fan of the series and have really enjoyed all but two of them. AC Revelations I didn't hate but thought was just ok and not a great way to end Ezio's storyline and then there was Unity which just wasn't ready for prime time even after the patches.

I'll wait until I play the game to pass judgement, but I'm really waiting for them to make something set in ancient Egypt or Japan. Those settings haven't been touched yet and could lead to some great storytelling.

They won't make a game set in Japan until the series is ran into the ground even further and sales tank.

But Egypt, tho. I would be so in if they made an AC in Ancient Egypt. Sticking to the settings they usually go for is boring. But Black Flag was a nice surprise.
Egypt would be cool but I haven't played since Brotherhood so no idea on the story. If it wasn't yearly I might have continued to play but I just don't have the time.

I liked what was shown this morning, the focus on hand to hand combat vs using swords etc will be a nice change and something I've wanted for a while. I just hope the game is actually ready for release when October 23rd comes around, Unity needed a lot more time and even after all of the patches it was still a buggy mess.

I love this franchise, mainly because of the stories, settings, and characters. The action isn't the best, but it's not atrocious. I'm looking forward to running around in London during the Industrial Revolution.

It's going to take a lot more than this to get me back into the series. They need to really start pushing the boundaries and new ideas rather than just adding a few new features. Black flag was great example of that, but since then they've gone backwards.

BTW It probably doesn't belong in this thread but Ubisoft said that other than Just dance titles they'll no longer be supporting last gen consoles (360/ps3) which I think is good news. Also Syndicate has something like 9 teams working on it and they are all focused on the single player experience, the game has no MP.

they should give it a 2 year break....
Why? If the game sells and turns a profit, what logical reason do they have to stop making these year after year? People seem to continually enjoy these things for the most part and the series is at a point where they can pretty much do whatever they want without having any relation to the original games plot other than the factions.

I don't play the games, by the time Black Flag came out, I finally played one of the games, AC2. That said, I'm really impressed by this games visuals and the layout of the game world. Unity just looked cluttered and not as friendly towards exploration, maybe due to the theme of the game, but this seems like a much better improvement. Going by video alone, it seems like they've gone back to having a more parkour centric game, but again, I don't really play these things. I just see some vids.

Not feeling it. I'd rather have a new Mordor. This Victorian setting may have been interesting some years ago but now this series is in full blown franchise fatigue.
