Las Vegas Shooting

Suppressors dont silence a weapon. Its still very loud. Especially if you use sonic rounds. They make it possible to not need ear protection on some guns. The argument is really no use to either side IMO. They dont make guns silent like the left wants to believe, and they dont really have a great benefit of quieting the sound other than the fact it may save some ear damage. In a hunting situation it will probably help with how far the sound travels. Its not like how they are portrayed in the movies at all. Not even close.
If the Vegas guy had used on it would have most likely cause a misfire within 200 rounds. They get very hot very fast.

America The Lethal

"...In 2011 alone, according to FBI statistics, more than 11,000 Americans were killed by firearms in the United States (a figure that excludes suicides.)

...In any given year Americans are almost 2,000 times more likely to be killed by a fellow American armed with a gun than by a jihadist terrorist.

...Britain suffers around 50-60 gun deaths a year in a country where the population is around a fifth the size of the United States. In other words, you are about 40 times more likely to be killed by an assailant with a gun in the United States than you are in the United Kingdom."

Nice try but I've played Metal Gear Solid and enemies can't hear me shoot with a suppressor when I'm standing right next to them.

Hunters say that it helps muffle the sound of the shot so that they dont scare off their prey. However the NRA is arguing that silencers don't really do much to muffle the sound of a shot. So why the need for silencers? These idiots cant get their arguments straight.
It lowers the sound from 140dB to around 120-130dB, this is the range that will not cause damage to the human ear. While the supersonic crack is still loud as well as the shot itself it is still far more enjoyable to shoot. A firearm with a suppressor is still as loud as a jackhammer or an ambulance, so it's not some super-secret killing machine. Hell they're legal in Europe.

We need to ban all refugees though, because even though not one act of terror has been committed, we need to be vigilant.

What's quite pathetic is that, right wingers would rather have a list of people who voted instead of people who own a gun. I guess one constitutional right is worth more than others, or do they skip the first amendment, read the second one, than negate the rest?

They are strict constitutionalists... when it suits their interests. Football players protesting peacefully? Outrage. White guy shoots up a large crowd? We'll pray on that.

Gun laws can only do so much but they still play a vital part in trying to stop people. Not only do they make it harder but requiring checks and ID on all sales could help flag some people who are already questionable. Laws won't stop everything from happening and that's not the point, people still speed but we don't say speed limits are useless right? I think at times some of us get a little over excited about getting rid of guns, that'll never happen and we have to accept that. I think on the other side people get far too defensive when they act like someone is going to come take all of their guns, that's never going to happen either. We need to accept that this is sadly a gun country and do what we can to limit access to people who shouldn't have these weapons.

The NRA is just scary powerful. They own enough of congress that it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. The NRA is so big they don't just target Republicans but Democrats as well.

Here's what the NRA thinks of you (us)

Yet another myth, the NRA barely gives to those in Congress, compared to other lobbying groups, they don't control Congress they couldn't even rent them for the lousy 3 million they give a year. And that was in a presidential election year.

You want to see who owns Congress, take a look at how much employee unions and pharmaceutical companies donate to Congress. I'm not disputing that they're not owned I'm just disputing who owns them. The gun lobby is weak.

Hell, she isn't even that far off base. Look at the depictions of guns in school, guns when talked about in the media, guns when talked about by Hillary or Obama, they distort the truth, make things look worse than they are and tell lies. They spread ignorance willfully period while I don't agree with the NRA and don't even hold a membership anymore she's not too far off base.

Yep. They're pretty powerful. When a school full of dead children wasn't enough to change things, you know they've won.
I think that had to do with the millions of people across the country who wrote that Congress men and women, those who protested, those who called, those who stated that they laws they were trying to put in place where Ludacris and outrageous. I can also point to the fact that Converse all that gun control is a losing battle in anywhere else besides New York California and other Democratic strongholds. Those outside of major Metro areas and those outside of media do not often hold the same view. Again the NRA is a very weak lobbying group.

The nra, sure. Conveniently, I’m sure by design, you are ignoring the millions, upon millions, its members, gun manufacturers, ammo manufacturers, donate for their gun totin’, rootin’ tootin’, outdated dogma, outside of the “nra”.

Hey, I don't live in your country and as much as I respect it, I'm glad I don't. I don't want to live anywhere that thinks it's ok to change nothing after nearly 30 children are murdered.

Unbelievable stuff. About a month ago i was thinking, how has there not been a mass shooting on this scale for awhile. Seems like we get one every 3-6 months now. Then this happens, a record breaker. So sad.

When people used to ask me if i wanted to have to kids i said yeah, eventually. I don't have any kids and if i never do i won't feel bad about it. What's the point in this world today? This isn't a world that i'd be proud of growing up in, unlike the 90's which were amazing.

Its the kids fault for not being armed
