Tried it myself, gameplay wise, I dig it. Still not a fan of the storyline, but I can't deny that it doesn't seem as annoying. Overall fun, maybe if I have some money and time to throw at this, I'll pick it up. They have some new optional online connectivity where you can share scores, items, in-game photos, and posts via facebook/twitter. Visually, the game is very nice. Still very impressive on that front.
 
I enjoyed the first one, in fact I think it's the only FF I've actually finished (only played 7 and 8 previously). Second game however I only played a few hours before giving up on it. Just don't care about Lightning or this story.
 
I hated the first FFXIII personally, but I really dug Lighning overall as a character when she was being swept into someone elses melodrama. The other characters I pretty much universally hated. I'm hoping we get to kill the f*** out of Snow. That'd be magical.
 
The thread title should have been "Lightning strikes again".
 
Tried the demo a while ago. Overall, it's actually pretty good. The fighting system is interesting and quite different in a good way. I'll bet there'll be even more challenge battles in the later story, given the fact that we carry very limit items. The character doesn't refill the health as soon as the battle ends. That's even more challenge. And I like that. Never got the chance to play FF13 series so I'll have to go back to the older games and play 'em, one day.
 
Has anyone played the previous game? Did this game take a religious turn or something? Lightning is referencing god and one of the villains called her an angel. Strange direction for this game to take.
 
Is this coming to pc's? I wish the other game would get ported. I never beat it and I'm assuming I'll be lost in the 2nd one because of it.
 
I see it is out for the 360 and PS3. Pfffft...where is my PS4/X1 version? K tx.

I finished the previous games. Yes, she was a goddess in XIII-2. The whole story is so weird. I like Lightning, Sazh, Fang and Noel. The other half of the cast annoys me. I just want to play this one and be done with it. As much as I like Lightning's original XIII design and initial tough soldier attitude, I am glad this is the final chapter, because they have absolutely no idea what to do with her.

Edit: I forgot to mention Caius. He was imo a cool antagonist and battles against him were pretty entertaining and epic.

Yeah, it's a pretty big departure from what Lightning used to be.
 
Man, if they could make more games about Lightning (aka FF-13-1/2/3), then I wish Square would find the time to do FF VII-2. That'll be hella nice. Cloud being older and stronger than ever!
 
I think Snow is awesome. He could've been Cloud's cousin or something.
 
I'll download it in a bit and give it a try. I loved FFXIII and FFXIII-2. So this should be no different.

Oh and Snow is awesome. Come on now.

He's too reckless, out of touch with the situations they're in.

I like the new combat system. You can move and guard freely. The story is typical FF over dramatic fudge you would expect from the series.
