Logan

What's all this? A continuation of xmen or something new with those characters?

The character's based on Old Man Logan. It's a post apocalyptic era where a lot of messed up / interesting things happened to the Marvel characters. I won't spoil it. It looks like that's Laura with him, which is awesome if true.

In short: the answer is yes and yes.

The best goddamn trailer of the year for me. Maybe best SH trailer ever.
Felt like I was watching a sequel to No Country For Old Men.

Really wasn't sure how they were gonna handle an "Old Man Logan" film given how Fox have handled other classic X-Men stories but it looks like they've actually got something good here. Looks great, and we're getting X-23 to boot.

I don't see any hint of the villains portrayed in the comic book series...which honestly are the best parts of the books.

Looks pretty good. Not sure if anything ties in with the main X-Men movies anymore but haven't seen the last two yet. Probably should get around to it sometime.

Yeah, if anyone is sensitive about swearing and violence then this movie is NOT for you.

Sad but true. I think a big part of it is just so the movie isn't too long. Considering this is supposed to be the last time we see Hugh Jackman star as Wolverine. Another being that the villains in their very nature might be a bit too "eccentric" for general audiences, or at least that's the line of thought going around. Personally, I would have loved to see Logan burst out of the Hulk in glorious CGI.

Just realized that this movie lost composer Cliff Martinez a while ago. :( Still watching it but will miss how electronic ambient of Martinez would have worked out with a blockbuster. From what I've heard about film composing it would have sounded too alien to some of the producers and execs, which makes me all the more curious.

If you like electronic stuff, I hear Johann Johansson is doing ALIEN: Covenant

It's nice to see them approach the character in a new and frankly, suitable for the character way.
My question is whether they'll try to go on with the name Wolverine, with Laura like in the comics, or hire a new Logan, or just drop the character from the universe. The latter is unlikely because of his popularity. The Laura option also seems unlikely because the timing doesn't fit with the other Xmen movies which have enough timing continuity problems as is. Rehiring to replace a guy who was such a good fit for Wolverine for like 20 years is a hard act to follow, too.
Maybe they'll just leave it alone for a few years then start new when people's memories aren't too fresh.

Read a review from a top critic saying it's the definitive SH film. High praise indeed.

Can't wait to watch it in 2 weeks. Gonna cry like a lil b.....
