Lord Of The Ring's: Rings of Power - TV Series on Prim

Just finished watching it, I liked it but I think one or two of the actors probably shouldn't have been cast based on what I've seen so far.

Watched episode 1 and really enjoyed it. Production value is high and shot nice.
Why all the hate? Seen so many youtubers on a witch hunt for this show. Because it’s trying to be woke? Not following the lore? Who cares?

If you like fantasy then I am sure people will like this.

Really enjoyed both episodes.

Disney should take note, this is how you write a strong female lead.

How is it being woke?

Yeah there is loads of YouTubers trying to sabotage this series. It’s mental.
That is pretty common these days as there are clicks to be had on hate its just on overdrive here.

Very much review bombed on metacritic as well. 2.3 rating. The IMDB score is normal with a 7.4 for episode 1 so I have no idea they avoid that nonsense.

It does appear to mostly be people upset about seeing black people

Apparently only white ppl should exist in fantasy worlds. Stuff like that.
lol, really? Lol.
I think an ign review of the live action lady and the tramp said something along the lines of (not a direct quote cos I don’t remember it and to lazy to look it up) “people might have trouble believing it cos the family is interracial cos the period it takes place in”… I was like “da fauq….the film is about talking dogs and different ‘breeds’ getting it on and ‘mutts’ exist in it, bitch please”

I have no issue with characters being other backgrounds but I think the guy who played the elf was incredibly boring, I found it really hard to be interested in him at all. I didn't care for the little "hobbit" type girl either, her face annoyed me lol.

Not shocked at all how some across the internet are treating this. When I saw the makers wanted to do their on thing and then people started b****ing about characters and who plays them. If it is good then who cares.

Want to finish my LOTR rewatch before watching this. Forgot how long these movies are might take me a few more days lol, but boy do these films hold up and will stand the rest of time.

7.5ish seems about right for both episodes thus far.

Some of the responses made me laugh.

Anyways show is dull and pulling stuff out it's arse.

That tweet might be the dumbest criticism possible
I responded to a couple losers in that Tweet, but it's really just mostly a circle-jerk of absolute hatred, in there. I learned that "Guy-ladriel" is a thing they call her, and once the dude I was asking about what that actually means, had actually referred to her as GINO (Galadriel In Name Only 🙄), I had to peace-out... the anti-RoP brigade reads like a F-ing cult! I'm all for criticism, but many make points based on nonsense, and pretend they are Tolkien experts, claiming it breaks lore (and I'm not saying that it 100% doesn't) It's just that most don't seem to understand that MOST of the 2nd age is kind of a blank slate. Tolkien references things that happen in it, but the show's role is to tell new stories, starting with the elves we know, and eventually introducing the wizards and Sauron, and the forging of the rings of power, inching us closer to what we know about the 3rd age... although, still THOUSANDS of years away, until the The Hobbit!

... "But, but Galadriel never went to Númenor?" How do you know, MF? She sure AF existed, back then! There's like this whole Atlantis that existed, and none of these Immortals went there to at least VISIT there? EVER? It's just a bunch of people repeating the same nonsense.

So it's not the criticism, it's that when you see people devoting SO much time rallying against sh!t they don't like, it's just F-ing weird, and absolutely cultish! We know that SW has been through this weird ass "Mary Sue" people phase, and yes, there's been a mixed bag of content, but at one time, it was a fierce and focused hate brigade. You've gotta wonder who's turning the wheels and gears behind this sh!t! It FEELS political, and mostly because they somehow CLAIM that the content itself is too political... Makes you wonder.
