Mad Max (Sept. 1)

The fighting looks similar to Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the OG Xbox. Is that accurate? That had some of the best fighting mechanics I've ever experienced. I played the hell out of that game. Just loved crushing those enemies with solid melee attacks. Dope s*** was dope...

I never played Buffy. But the combat in Mad Max has a lot of weight and a very crunchy feel to it. They use the Batman system of one button striking and countering. But you won't be sliding around to each enemy here. Its a simple system that's not very deep but still a lot of fun especially since you're always unlocking new brutal looking moves to use.

I dumped Monster Hunter Rise and picked up Mad Max for $5 using reward points (MS Lunar Sale). Only a few hours in and enjoying the game. I heard it can get repetitive in some parts, but so far so good.

Same. Playing in the 120fps mode via FPS Boost, feels nice and smooth. Robocop: Rogue City got me in the mood to play more games based on beloved movie franchises!

I watched a Mad Max timeline video recently getting ready for the new film dropping. Then I saw a gaming history video (some got canceled over the years) I forgot all about this game. I need to get it the next time I see it on sale, what I saw of it in the video looked fun. Crazy thing is Frank Miller had no input on this game they just used all he and his crews ideas over the years, scripts, and artwork designs, because they owned the license for the game. Pretty f’ed up he was not happy about it. He was a big fan about getting a game made that took place in his universe he tried for many years.

It's on sale pretty much every other week on Xbox. Usually for £2-3

I got it for $5 USD I think, maybe less!

It definitely looks "last gen", but the fps boost mode feels great if you have a 120fps display.

I'm getting fired up for Furiosa. Edgar Wright (the director) was gushing about an early screening he attended on Twitter recently.

Love to see this thread resurrected, this was one of my favorite games of last gen. I remember getting addicted to the gameplay loop of upgrading my car and taking on more powerful enemies. The race missions were rage inducing though haha

Yeah, I got it for $5 too. I'm sure another sale will come around sooner than later.
