There’s some weird canon thing as to why he doesn’t. It’s kinda like dr strange choosing not to fix his fingers, he actually moves them with magic
I'm not sure being stuck in a chair suits his acting style or I can't picture him ever having to look up to someone while doing dialogue. Unless he uses telepathy powers more aggressively that might work for him.
Patrick Stewart is great but his Prof. X sometimes seemed like a passive background character using his ability at a distance.
Y'know one major guy we still need to see is Mister Sinister. I bet he could nail that role.

EXCLUSIVE: With a deal in place with the Writers Guild, studios have begun taking aim at setting writers for their open assignments. Marvel Studios is looking to set the bar with what will likely become one of the more sought-after jobs for any scribe.
Sources tell Deadline that Marvel will start setting writer meetings later this fall for pitches on its anticipated X-Men movie. Insiders add there is no rush to fill the job since the film hasn't been dated yet, and it's more than likely that writer decision will be made at the top of 2024. Marvel declined comment.

Wasn’t that already a thing in the comics, maybe even before the Disney buyout. Marvel has always been open and pushed for inclusivity, Stan Lee was a big reason behind it. It’s not that people forget, they either don’t care or some ignore it, at worst they leave it and complain but sometimes go back to it. Like timdog and Xbox?
