Sure, but they need to stop with this black washing of white characters. Make new black ones ffs

Eh it might be interesting if the character was an entirely different character from Krypton. Sort of how they came up with Supergirl.

Or they do STEEL ( forgetting the awful Shaq movie )

They did the quick version of the Death of Superman but skipped over the 4 guys who replaced him while he was dead. I don't really care to see a Superboy in this, but the other 3 characers were cool.

EDIT: maybe Swede would be down for the Terminator Superman?

It's clear that Warner Bros have no cohesive path as to where the DCEU should be going. I am a fan of MoS/Henril Cavill so this sucks. MoS deserved a sequel and Justice League deserved a story conclusion. I just want MoS 2 with Snyder at the helm, but that's never going to happen.

I swear there was another thread about this.

Superman's race is irrelevant to the character so it doesn't really matter if he is black or white so its worth doing just to watch certain people get upset
While certainly arguable, I have to softly disagree on both points for the following reasons:

1. As an infant, Superman crash-lands in Kansas which is 83.6% white. Being white himself, he was able to disguise himself within the community fairly easily and no one questioned that he was Jonathan and Martha's son. You could make the case for a Superman movie having a black infant Kal-El landing in Detroit, Michigan, but again, the Kansas/mid-western developmental stage is not irrelevant to Superman's character as currently depicted.

2. Lois and Clark: The New Adventuress of Superman cast Dean Cain, of Japanese descent, as Superman, and the show had explosive popularity for four straight seasons. The continuous high ratings suggest that no one was upset, at least not upset enough to not watch the show.

Personally, the biggest issue was that Lex Luthor had hair, but I never missed an episode.

I don't think that would matter much except for maybe the Kents needing to be the same race but think of it this way if they had a new Superman movie that didn't touch on his origin at all and just had him already as Superman you wouldn't even know he was from Kansas and this is all assuming he would be Clark Kent and they would introduce him in the same way and it isn't a Miles Morales situation which also some people complained about when he was introduced.

I would assume most people didn't know that about Dean Cain because he easily passes for white so while I do agree that its just certain loud people and it wouldn't influence whether or not it was successful but you can't deny they won't exist because just look on social media or look when this is revealed in a more public way. "create a new character" complaints that are out there will be out there more are completely ridiculous when comic book characters are constantly rebooted with changes to their origin stories and even personalities or powers.

I hate race/gender bending not because I don't think people of color or women should have characters but because it shows how creatively bankrupt these suits are who come up with this stuff, it's lazy. There is a Black/Latino Spider-Man and his name isn't Peter Parker they came up with a new creative way to give us a new character that can still be Spider-Man but have a unique new story to tell. They could easily make up a story about a new Kryptonian and build on that, it would be nice to have something besides the same old story we've been told and I say that as a lifelong Superman fan, he's always been my favorite character even though he's never considered the "coolest" lol.

NEVER! lol unpopular opinion but Sam Jackson's acting ability is highly overrated lol.
Perhaps, but he’s charismatic….guess, one could say, he could be the modern interpretation of frank sinatra, only black, and curses a tad more?

Dude, what if tarantino wrote and directed the new Superman and Jackson stared in it….oh, and tarantino cameoed as bizarro?

I never saw the Ryan Reynolds Lantern so I'm not sure if the property still has studios leary of revisiting it again.

They could do the John Stewart Lantern.

HBO Green Lanterns show coming. It's why Snyder had to cut a green lantern from the end of Justice League

Right, we already got many modern yank superhero moving pictures played by nigels and bruces. They should at least be played by more canuks. Oh and then you have gallegos or kiwis playing Latins/Hispanics, sometimes pinoys play them too but I don’t know where I’m going with this. All that matters, in reality, if it’s a good movie I’ll go see it, hopefully it’s fun and or dark just be better because I like Superman.

Oh and I feel they should get more of the writers/directors that do the animeted movies to do or work with the live action films.
