Microsoft got us all excited on a feature that was never real. Only 12 games will actually support this new feature which is completely not what Microsoft said before. There always seems to be a big big big big big big catch when it comes to Microsoft's so-called "love" for PC gaming. Ugh. Not that this would have affected me personally because I've already sworn a blood oath and pledged my undying loyalty to Steam and GOG, but still..

Meh that's not a "Complete Reversal". I'm sure all games developed by MS First Party Studios will be play anywhere but stuff that they publish for 3rd party like a Dead Rising it would be up to the 3rd party developer like in the case of Capcom and that's probably for the best as they are not far from a GoFundMe so they can continue to make games, so they could use every penny.

Not even that actually. Microsoft said only the Microsoft-published specifically shown at E3 would. Meaning only 12 games and that is different from saying all Microsoft-published games.

Yes, that means all those 12 games are definitely play anywhere. That doesn't mean Halos 6 isn't. The wording is to allow something like ORI 2 to be play anywhere but also to allow it to be separate on Steam which is important for indies that may be published through MS. Taking it is as only these 12 games ever is a leap, if MS did that it would ruin the Windows unification.

Clearly, MS still hasn't learned to cater to their customers. Instead of giving the W10 access for free, they need to use a subscription streaming service to let people access their games. :smash:

Seems like they just clarified.

According to Phil, every Microsoft Games Studios release, "that makes sense", will release on both platforms. You make it sound like it's limited to the games shown at e3.... which isn't correct.

There is not a game that doesn't make sense on PC. PC has controllers too. It's a shady amendment after-the-fact of advertising otherwise. To go from saying "every game" to "every game we pick for you" is dirty. And this is why Microsoft has been repeatedly kicked out of the PC gaming market. You can't trust anything they say.

Now imagine a game that might not make sense on console....

mind blown, right?

Also, a Kinect-only game wouldn't make much sense on PC. I don't think it's that hard to think of the types of games that wouldn't make sense on a different platform without overreacting with this faux outrage thread.

Halo 6 is an FPS and "won't make sense" on PC because Microsoft wants Xbox exclusives to stay Xbox exclusives. That's how that works.

So you go from making up things like, "Only 12 games will actually support this new feature" to this made up point about Halo 6, based off of absolutely zero evidence and pure assumption, then top it off with "MS wants Xbox exclusives to stay Xbox exclusive", right after literally every game they showed this year is coming to PC....?.

Deductive reasoning does not lead to any part of your stance being accurate.

Sorry, you are not making a lick of sense here.

Only twelve Microsoft games were shown at E3. Microsoft said only the Microsoft-published games shown at E3 will be available for this feature. There is nothing made up about it. If you had just watched the video before calling it all a lie..

You said, those are the only games that "will actually support" the feature.

I'm only going by what you said here, saying those are the only games that will support implies that there won't be any after. I'm not sure how the video would change these things that you actually typed... this guy is an authority on nothing in particular from what I can tell; his interpretation of the matter means absolutely nothing.

Phil Spencer said:

Just clarifying could be unique game not right for all devices. Intent to bring our franchises to Win10 & XB1 is unchanged.

Any half-assed guesses or interpretations that are outside of that by some random person on youtube are simply assumptions that are not credible. Not sure why those would be the opinions you choose to gobble up.

That doesn't imply that at all. You are trying way too hard to read into things. All I said was that only twelve Microsoft games will actually be supported instead the originally stated "every new Microsoft game published."

You are the one that typed "Only". There is no extra reading into anything to interpret that any differently. Only has a very specific meaning.

Either way, you keep avoiding the part where all of the things you are arguing seem to be baseless assumptions at the moment.

"Only" doesn't mean that either. I was only saying twelve will be initially supported. You are reading way too hard into all of this.

I mean, WTF IS THIS STUPID THREAD?

A complete reversal of what? Sounds a lot like splitting hairs. They never said all games would support the service. Yeah, they are doing something unprecedented for the good of the consumer. LET'S GET OUT THE PITCHFORKS!!!

Only 12 games will actually support this new feature which is completely not what Microsoft said before.

Your new statement doesn't even make sense in comparison to your revised clarification.

revised:
"twelve (games) will be initially supported" is completely not what Microsoft said before.

That makes even less sense. My head hurts. "The complete reversal", that hasn't reversed anything? Odd that your first statement goes 1:1 with the nonsense title you made, but it's not what you meant?

I'll just let you have fun with this thread, it's going places. Just pretend I didn't post in here.

I never said Microsoft can't add more games in the future. It's really your own fault if you thought I was saying such. You can't put words in someone's and then get angry about something they never said. But only twelve games are confirmed now and every games that comes after that will be done on a case-by-case basis. You should have just watched the video if you wanted the full details.

First of all, if you're attempting to troll, please try to make it a little funnier.

If you're actually remotely serious, wow. Name a game that was annouced to be in the program that no longer is. Or a game or franchise that would have been included if it were still "every MS published game" that is now confirmed to not be. If your favorite game or franchise appears on that list of zero titles, feel free to vent about a reversal of policy. If at some point in the future it comes to pass that something actually falls into that category, feel free to vent about that. Otherwise, would you kindly stop bitching about MS giving away free PC copies of games they publish because they added a small bit of clarity, just in case they continue listening to gamers and decide that you're right and cancel the whole f***ing thing because some people can't help looking a gift horse in the a******?

Kudos to MS for making this a thing. I've said it in other threads, but Id love all games to include PC versions on purchase.

Heck, I wish you bought a game once, it works on ALL platforms.

MS took us a step closer to that.

Bitching about free stuff? Look a gift horse in the mouth.

I bet Phil Spencer gets tired of the bulls*** spin on everything that gamers do.

I don't think Kassen made anything up. But the guy in the video is making a big leap in logic.

Microsoft did change their wording though. Hopefully one of these days they can announce something with a clear plan and execution.

Microsoft having a communication issue? that's unheard of! :p

I see no reversal or even a communication issue.

If anything this change in wording is nothing but Microsoft protecting themselves from the stupidity of gamers.

Microsoft announced all games would be in the program. That is no longer the case. Now there are only 12 games to be in this program. And the PC copies aren't free; you still have to pay $60 for the Xbox One copy to actually get that free copy.
