For the fourth year in a row, the latest entry in Sony's baseball game franchise is coming day one to Xbox Game Pass.

What you need to know​

  • MLB The Show 24 is the latest game in the yearly baseball title franchise developed by Sony San Diego Studio and published by PlayStation Studios.
  • Over the past few years, the franchise has gone more and more multiplatform, with Xbox console versions starting in 2021 and a Nintendo Switch version starting in 2022.
  • Like the past three games, MLB The Show 24 is launching day one in Xbox Game Pass.
  • The game is set to arrive on March 19, 2024.

Love last years game. Bought it on sale (it leaves GP after new game launches). I’m so invested in my two RTTS players I wanna keep playing. Wish you get carry over your players each release.

Tried it this morning. Other than a few new animations, camera angles on replays plays, and new menus… I didn’t notice anything different from last years game. Sucks not being able to carry over your RTTS character. Game looks great like always. GamePass for the win!

I never played last year's game so I'm enjoying this. Playing Road to the Show though and my gosh, the game can be overwhelming at times. Created a pitcher and having fun. Although I was throwing 97 mph fireballs, striking out 17 in 7 innings in the "combine" thing and it told me I did poorly.

I'm playing RTTS too. Created a centre fielder which i'm not finding easy. I seem to be a better batter.

Outfield is weird in this game. No camera seems to get it right. It is much easier to do in real life. You just see the ball come off the bat and react. The 2d screen just doesn't show it the same way. I tried playing the outfield once and gave up.

Oh, and this is baseball. You plan CENTER field (unless you are playing in Canada). :)

I'm not finding following the ball the issue. It is the Button combos to throw it accurate and quickly to the bases that is doing me in.
 
It's funny how this and Fifa/EA FC are so popular yet always have really bad ratings on the store pages.
In fact a lot of sports games are like this.

It is a joke in regards to FIFA. It gets worse every year. This years is borderline unplayable.
 
I haven't touched an EA sports game in like 5 years (and I get them on Game Pass). I'm just done with their catch up logic nonsense. I used to play in an NHL league with a few friends, and every game would have a last minute comeback. We were all about the same skill, but eventually we realized it was scripted. The way to win (at least in NHL) was to sit back and stay tied or a goal down until late, then ride the catch-up logic.

I started RTTS (wanted to see how it played in the new game) went with a third baseman and what’s up with the series of buttons you have to hit quickly fielding sometimes!? So stupid, you go from using the right stick then randomly buttons pop up and you’re not even sure when to expect it and don’t have enough time. Hate it.

Also in the combine I hit a HR, batted in close to 10 RBI’s, hit for .500, and only made one throwing error yet I didn’t have a good combine according to my agent lol. I did random draft I got drafted by the Phillies in the 6th round.

Yeah I assume the combine is rigged. My pitcher had 17 strikeouts and I think 1 hit in 7 innings and I was ranked 100/100.

I'm starting to wonder about this game. My pitcher was doing well, then went 5 games in a row without a single run from my team. My AAA team has a winning record too, so it isn't like they are just bad. I give up 1 run and lose every game. I took a break as it started feeling "EA sports-ish". Like it was just my time to lose.

My first at bat in AA on the first pitch I blasted a HR. Felt good.

Last years RTTS and this years RTTS I’ve noticed that when you’re on base your team very rarely gets a hit. Also if your down unless you do anything hitting or scoring wise you will lose most of the time.
