New competitive PlayStation 4 controller to release in August
http://www.mweb.co.za/games/ViewNew...tation-4-controller-to-release-in-August.aspx

According to a lot of console gamers the Xbox has a better controller than the PlayStation. This seems to be one of the reasons why the Xbox One has officially become the home of competitive console gaming. One controller which is specifially favoured by pro teams like Epsilon, OpTic Gaming and Complexity, to name but a few, and is even promoted by Major League Gaming (official supporter of the Xbox One as the home for console eSports), is the SCUF One. The good news for PlayStation owners is that the SCUF will also be available to them starting this August.

The SCUF 4PS, PlayStation 4 controller gives the player more control over his or her movement in game. It has been designed to increase hand use, improve comfort and it can be customised to individual play style. Seems like the dream controller for the first-person shooter console gamer.

Each SCUF 4PS controller is hand made and takes up to four hours to craft is available in different skins - there's even a shocking pink one! You can check it out here.
If all the usual marketing lingo doesn't convince you that the SCUF is worth considering (even at its hefty price), then this remark from a random forum reader on N4G will ;), "Scuf is bad for gaming. They don't make bad players good, but do give an unfair advantage."and

I was pleasantly surprised when i heard that i can upgrade the firmware on my Cronus device for XB1/PS4 support. For 60 bucks you can own this device and you'll be able to use your PS4 controller on XB1 or vice versa. Reading up about it makes it seem like it has absolutely no limits you can even add some trigger mod that turns single fire weapons into machine guns!

For those interested in custom controllers and all that nonsense I advise that you check out youtube and read up on it first. Personally it does seem a bit complicated how it works but I'm sure once i get familiar with the setup it'll be pretty easy. Definitely a nice alternative for those who are interested in custom controllers.

PS. I don't think the PS4 controller is better than the XB1 one (IMO). Also, online polls really aren't that reliable.

dammit!! its just the scuf. thread title nearly gave me a heart attack, i thought it was a new official design :(

I actually thought about getting this PS3 controller because it looks much like Xbox 360's. And it's only 14 bucks! Reason why I'm getting this is because I want to feel comfortable when playing a new game called Destiny. You gotta admit this controller looks nice, doesn't it? I'd like to try and get that before Destiny comes out.

And they still didn't nail it. The reason the Xbox controller is so much more popular amongst the core and league gamers is because of the offset sticks. They haven't done that with the controller in their offering, so they still won't capture that market.

That is the only reason I was able to play my PS3..the DS3 sucked so bad. That controller was gods gift to the PS3 at the time.

that controller looks disgusting :|

i was kinda hoping they moved the left analog position and replaced the triggers

Wow. That's awesome to know! I have a Cronus device, too, and it's fantastic. Good to know it continues to get support.

that device would be sketchy to use due to a lot of games requiring touchpad use.

Good point. Didn't really think of that. I guess it's not advised to use your XB1 controller on PS4 in that case. I'm sure it won't be a game breaker deal most of the time, though! I'm also sure it'd only be with exclusive games.

oh yeah, for example does KZ allow you to change your robots ability without the touchpad?

This reminds me that I need to get some Control Freeks for my X1 controller( I can't even use the 360 controller without it anymore, which is a testament to the quality of the X1 sticks).

I've got a modded controller for the X1, and I can't believe these companies haven't realized the greatness of back buttons like this

Mine is a bit different, but the benefit (especially in shooters) is undeniable.

hmm that looks like the razer

I don't have that one, but It's the only picture of a similar button placement. Mine was custom from an indie group. It has those button bars across the back that can be used for A and B. It makes it so I can push the buttons without taking my thumb away from the aim stick. It's quite awesome. Expensive though. I need a control freek for my aim stick too.

true. still a pain to have that uncertainty though. i had this same problem using a 360 controller for ps3 last-gen where some games like killzone 2 and last of us required sixaxis use. touchpad is much more common feature though

i'm fairly certain you cannot.

The triggers are nice but I would like the option to change them at anytime for fighting games or action adventure games like Devil May Cry or Beyonette. The default triggers are only nice for racing and shooters.
