New "The Division" Screenshots

Damn.

Even with the games we've seen thusfar, you guys still doubt that games like this will look like these screenshots, on consoles?! You guys are either jaded to the point of no return, or you havent been paying attention.

Its possible on consoles, but something gonna give, like FPS and res.

The reason why a lot of games like Thief struggled with frame rate despite looking so so, is because, they are using the easiest trick (but not the most efficent) in the book to bump up details, which is higher res texture (Lowpoly models /high res texture).

You can only do his much to enhance the look with texture if your character has only have 10k polygon.

However, when not retricted by last gen low poly mesh restriction, for a true next next gen, you can pump up the character model details with much higher density polygon mesh, making the characters look much better, with just midium size texture. In theory, they cost the similar performance, but the latter (High poly models/medium res texture) look much better. Examples are Ryse & Order, which boith use high density models. Same is true of environment, if its not also clear.

Maybe so. But if its only res or FPS (30 is my guess) Its not going to effect the level of detail. I have no doubts this game will look exactly as what we've seen. This game couldnt look bad in my opinion.

Probably the console version, look at dem shadow jaggies on the third pic.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that..

Is that the PC version or the Xbox One version they are showing?

It's not going to look better on any platform. It will just simply look/run better on others.

These aren't new.. these are just shots from the E3 demo, and they've been around since last year for the most part.

The Division's Facebook page posts old images, and dumb articles pop up claiming they are new. A simple reverse image search reveals they aren't.

Then it must be PC. ;)

To be fair, developers usually show the best version, which is 99% of the time PC. Beside, they are working using PC, so it just faster as well.
