NFS Xbox One VS PS4 comparison video

ps4 version probably looks better but I can't see it in that video really

It's your typical "Xbox version looks too bright comparison."

Both look great and run at 1080P. But the PS4 still has the edge for whatever reason.
X1 looks to have a little too much blur effect for my tastes.

So funny how these racing games on "Next Gen" consoles look like today's PC ports of racing games today.

So what you're trying to say is NFS:RIVALS coming out on current gen, also available on next gen looks like a port of today's PC ports which is actually a port of a current gen game ported to next gen consoles as well as current PCs? :txbconfused:

Can I just point out this is a cross-gen game and is in no way an indication of what these next-gen systems are capable of. Even the XB1 can run it at 1080p.

jaggies, 30fps, same old gameplay, no thanks. Looks like a last gen game with all the jaggies.

WTF kind of comparison is that. I don't think there was a single like for like scene in the entire video. Even in the car customization screen they had the brightness turned way down on PS4 and way up on XBO. If they should be comparing NFS to anything it is the current gen - then people could realize how little effort EA puts into these 'next gen' ports.

IGN=FAIL

Wait...I stand corrected. I just read the real answer in the IGN forums:

The reason why the Xbox One is brighter is due to the fact that it cannot support true HD. Its a trick developers use to demonstrate true HD when its not there. They add in lots of color instead.

Damn you, True HD!!!

WTF did he mean by that as they are both 1080p 30fps?

Tru dat, my TV is only 720p but if I turn the colour up too high it looks like 1080p

He was trying to insinuate that the X1 was not capable of doing 1080p (at least that's what I gathered by his comment).

For a game that was repeatedly confirmed to be 1080p/30fps on both platforms... lol

From what I've gathered, PS4 version might have a little more particles... but that's where the difference stops. I am buying this along with Ryse for launch.

Looks virtually the same to me in that video except for it being brighter on the Xbox One for some reason.

Yup. I can't tell any difference -- they both look good -- but you can't really compare, since they don't put the same scene side by side, but instead two different scenes. Is the Xbox version brighter, or is the scene just sunnier? Eh.

I find it hard to get worked up about these comparison videos. Most of the time, the differences are pretty small, and I never know how much to attribute to the capture process itself ... not to mention these games are so early in the console lifecycle ... I wish we had something better to argue about. I guess that will have to wait until the consoles are released.

THIS × 1,000,000! :-)

Regardless of which system(s) you choose, guys, you're not going to be able to go wrong. The games look and perform amazingly on both next-generation systems!

My take is that compression is bad, some amount of jaggies in same areas, same frame rate, res and the only difference is color temperature and brightness.

It's obvious EA just got this to run the same on both and is not pushing either system individually with the purpose to push the limits.

This engine will be good for the X1.

Clearly, you're not willing to put in the necessary time to count pixels and measure brightness and all that stuff it really takes to enjoy next generation gameplay. Only a sucker actually plays games because they enjoy it!

Exactly, liking certain exclusives is so last gen we need to get on board with the pixel counting for true happiness.

I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information about this game's performance or how well devs are optimizing or limiting each version. At first the PC version was reportedly locked at 30 FPS, but later we've got a report that it's not locked. I'm not confident in the devs taking advantage of each platform's strengths.

As far as the comparison footage so far, they're both 1080p at 30 FPS w/ drops. XB1 drops more often, and it's missing some IQ. The game's not exactly a looker on any of the 3 platforms, though.

I've seen footage of this game on both systems and, to me, they looked identical; admittedly, though, I'm not counting pixels or anything like that. The one head-to-head video I saw -- the one posted earlier this week by IGN -- only had a couple glimpses where the two versions could be directly compared. To me, the Xbox One version of the game featured the better textures; the background looked "clearer," too. This is especially noticeable in the video below; pay attention from 1:11-1:29. Particularly, starting at the 1:24 mark, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. The windows in the background look especially better / cleaner / clearer on one version. ;) Of course, I'm assuming both the Xbox One and PS4 versions were builds at equivalent stages in their respective development cycles. That's why it's not exactly fair comparing non-"production"-spec games, IMO.

I actually noticed the windows as the PS4 ones looked kinda blurry but other than that I can't tell the differance....the video sux for comparison.

That's probably the XB1 missing a depth of field effect. I wasn't going to point that out because "lol pixel peepers" but yeah.

Yeah, it sucks when you can't post an opinion without being inundated with crap like that.
