Nintendo's E3 Conference

New Zelda game – As they said, Nintendo will finally show us brand new Wii U Zelda. They gonna show us CGI trailer, and also a few minutes of gameplay. It will be true open world Zelda (Elder Scrolls style). It will have two regions, one dark and edgy. Second more colorful, just like Skyward Sword. Game will be playable at E3. Release date: 2015.

Sounds interesting. I hope we do hear about new Zelda at this E3. Truly open world sounds good, too.

Zelda is a must but...t with the way the Wii U is selling 2015 is 2 far away as unless something major happens Wii U might not be healthy enough to release it on and it might slip to the next machine.

See, that would have been enough to have an hour long press conference at E3. They could have spent 15 minutes of it just talking about and showing the new Zelda. A new Star Fox, Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros...some good games. They should have used a larger stage to show these off just to save face, because at this point, their whole Nintendo direct thing still comes off like an admission of insecurity, and irrelevance. I forgot about Bayonetta 2. First one was awesome.

Completely agree. I would have gladly watched a conference that was filled with this information. Now I won't even see it except for what hits the internet after the fact.

Zelda sounds too good, as does Star Fox. Ready, indeed.

Sorry I didn't want to "feed"you in the previous thread as you hijacked it a bit. But I really do not agree with you. An E3 presser only reaches a limited audience that also would tune into a Nintendo direct presser, namely the press and gamers. Now I know that isn't what you wish to hear but you feel it isn't a "willingness to compete", I see it as a saving of money to reach an audience that they can also reach in this way. In fact here in Europe, anybody who is a Nintendo Club member get's an email to the stream. So they do reach their audience with it, another reason why I prefer Nintendo's way is that you at least do not have annoying paid audience screamers/cheerers. And the third reason is they do not need to compete directly, they tried that with the Gamecube which arguably was the most powerful of it's generation (The Xbox had good points, but the Gamecube outshined it in quite a few fields). Yet it didn't help.. you also a very important matter. Nintendo has been here before. Saturn vs Playstation, it was described as two High speed trains on a collision course every E3 and completely ignoring them, it then is not wise to stand in the middle and also throw money at it. In such cases it is best to let the two trains collide and pick up the survivors or people that get off the train ;).

So no I do not see it as an "insecurity"and "Irrelevance" I see method to their actions, they just need to advertise a lot better to their main target audience. KIDS and Kids of all ages ;). I know some insecure gamers do not wish to hear that they play with toys and try to act overly complicated about their hobby. But even Football is a game and a toy, that you can play it professionally doesn't make it less of a game or less fun ;) and Nintendo makes great toys. They just need to stop with the "Always Pads/Tampons" commercials when showing a 3DS or Wii U commercials. At least here in Europe it is like "Ooh it's makes me feel so fresh, hahah look I'm playing something and I feel so dry... hihihihi" commercial filled with women and some attractive boyfriends... no child insight enjoying a game.. which I personally think is a mistake.

Ontopic:
As for the rest of that list... DROOOOOOOOL!
And they at least keep Zelda Colourful too, not give in completely to the "raah we want Gears of Hyrule" :).
And Starfox Reboot... YES PLEASE!

Oh I had the perfect GIF from a Neogaf Poster that I found just ... hilarious:):

Ok, we'll make this the Nintendo E3 thread.

Dissenters, let's please keep the negativity to a minimum, especially those of you who have a track record of trolling. Pre-E3 is a time for excitement and stupid GIFs, not for criticism and dampening others' enthusiasm. We've had plenty of threads to do that in already. Not saying criticism/negativity is off limits, just keep it to a minimum in this thread. If you want to gripe about Nintendo or portend doom, please use that other thread. Thanks.

IMO, Nintendo is not going to show any new hardware (console or handheld). E3 2015 they will.

Let's try to keep the Direct vs. press conference discussion in the other thread, please.
http://unionvgf.com/index.php?threa...ntendo-direct-no-press-conference.3990/page-4

I'm not saying you can't mention it (this is an E3 thread, so it's relevant), but the subject keeps dominating the discussion and turning the thread into a big argument. And we do have a long thread for that subject already in place.

I'd like this thread to be a place for Nintendo fans to just enjoy anticipating E3, to talk about what games they hope or expect to see, etc.

Thanks.

Give me Zelda and i'll give you my money Nintendo. Start the show.
Rumour has it they will, and both a gritty and a happy world. Much like Zelda: A Link to the past had, I really hope they'll keep the impressionist art style of Skyward sword, as it can be used for both dark, depressing moods as jubilant happy ones :). Come on Nintendo, play with my Emotions! :).

Mario Kart in a few days  and the new games only Nintendo can do shown at E3 in a few weeks

Great time to be a gamer

So anyone thinking about the Elder Scrolls-like Zelda announcement? You think that means a first-person possibility? Not sure I'd like that. I think having Elder Scrolls type things (open world, etc) in Zelda would be really awesome, but they just need to be careful to make sure it's truly a Zelda game. Though they haven't let me down yet, so I'm sure my fears are unneeded.

I wonder what they mean by Elder Scrolls-like.

I rather like the tightness of Hyrule, where everything is there for a reason. Not just empty space to wander and do battle just for EXP.

Announce a Wii U Zelda and a new Fire Emblem or Advance Wars for the Wii U (Snowflake's chance in hell, I know) and I'll be good.
