last year Nvidia took the opportunity to talk extensively about its next generation Pascal graphics architecture. Including the exciting new technologies that it will adopt such as second generation High Bandwidth Memory, NV-Link, mixed precision compute and 16nm FinFET process technology. This year Pascall will yet again no doubt take center stage.

The web has been abuzz with whispers and flooded with leaks over the past couple of months about Pascal. More specifically, about Nvidia potentially demoing a Pascal graphics card for the very first time on stage.

The keynote schedule is:

  • Day 1: Jen-Hsun Huang, NVIDIA co-founder and CEO, April 5, 9-11 am PT
  • Day 2: Rob High, IBM Watson CTO, April 6, 11 am-12 pm PT
  • Day 3: Gill Pratt, Toyota Research Institute CEO, April 7, 11 am-12 pm PT
GTC will showcase the vital role GPU technology plays in some of the industry’s biggest trends, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality and self-driving cars. This year’s event will feature more than 500 sessions with speakers from Alibaba, Audi, Baidu, Boeing, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Pixar, Raytheon, Samsung, Siemens, SpaceX and Twitter, among many others.

GTC also includes a daylong event, the Emerging Companies Summit, on April 6, focused on GPU-based startups. Nearly 100 startups will participate this year, including an onstage competition among a dozen companies vying for $100,000. Many more startups will show VR, drones, robots and other advanced technologies in the GTC Expo Hall.

Lets have a silent prayer in hopes of a new X70, X80, X80TI... may it have many GB's, Tflops and unnecessarily fast speeds.

I'm eager to hear any news on Pascal. Though a price and release date would be nice. I'm still rocking a GTX 780Ti so Pascal is more than likely going to be a significant upgrade for me.

Ok so whats the news?

Deep Learning AI, Skynet selfdriving cars, selling super computers, Deep Learning GPU, Cloud Lighting Rendering for VR, Nvidia API. They also made a highspeed self driving car and are going to use their Skynet Deep Learning AI to use in a Robocar race against other AI cars.

The only thing of interest as far as gaming is concerned is the Deep Learning GPU is 10+Tflops and uses HBM2 already. Which might be a hint at where the next Titan GPU could be aiming.

I don't get it. But I'm waiting to see what AMD has on offer this year. Really making it hard to hold out though. Might end up grabbing a 390/X if they announce the new cards and the price drops. Guessing my i7 930 will bottleneck me for a while anyways.

That i7 will be fine.
I want to scratch that itch and am even tempted to go with a amd solution .
I hear May will be the showing of the consumer Pascal .
