NYC Road Rage

Oh my god, the SUV driver was trying to weave in between the bikers????
Because none of those fine upstanding bikers would have done such a thing.!
that wasn't just break checking. Break checking is to stop people from tailgating and to slow down. That was an outright aggressive move to make him stop so that all those douches could get off their little 250 cc's and beat the sh1t out of him

The story is being very misrepresented by most media outlets. We can all admit to a moment of road rage so its not a biker problem. Apparently the SUV cut off and was trying to weave in between the bikers. So the guy in the silver bike goes in front of him an brake checks him. Something Im sure alot of us here are guilty of. And get this straight that there is no such thing as a "fender bender" when a bike is involved. Obviously all of the bikers friends are going to stop after their friend is RUN OVER in the middle of a highway. The driver gets skittish and drives over multiple bikes/riders nearly flipping his SUV. Now the situation is a hit and run. The bikers take chase to stop him where he runs over a SECOND bike/rider on an exit ramp. Did he deserve to be ripped out of his vehicle and beat up? Absolutely not. Should have he left the scene of an accident and continued to run after striking another bike? Absolutely not. A few stitches for the SUV driver being discharged the same day is nothing compared to what the guy that was on the bike is dealing with.

Ive never owned or rode a bike on the road but understand the "mob mentality" as Ive done plenty of convoys whether it was a cruise night in classic cars or 4 wheeling trip in pick ups. Do I think they would have done the same thing to him though when they had their first accident? Not at all although Im sure it still would have been an unpleasant experience.

Have you not seen the other videos prior to this incident? These bike rats were violating every single traffic laws: no license plates, crossing red lights, on cross walks, lane violation, illegal passing, driving to endanger...do I need to say more??

It's clear from reading a few articles online that the bikers were in the wrong and are bad people in general.

NO, they were a band of dips called the Hollywood Stuntz. They did this to cars all the time. Only this time, they screwed up and boxed in a man whose sole thought was get the f*** out of there and save my family. He took the path of least resistance over a piece of s*** biker.

What followed, was mob violence. The mentality of these guys that now somehow they are the victims here when they were being douches to the general public. They were repeatedly stopping cars, doing stunts, etc.. all in a bid to get people to avoid a stretch of highway. Just this driver didn't want any of their s*** and did what he had to do.

Make it known, I would mow down any douche on a bike who gets in my face, or stops me like that to protect my wife and kids. If the man was truly evil or wanting blood in the SUV, he had PLENTY of other chances to make street pizza out of more of the bikers.

Boston Globe article bout Edwin Mieses, the cyclist that was paralyzed:

http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/20...jHju3V1xAOsdF6Q2vT8BaL/story.html#skip-target

Quote from the article:

"Though Mieses is a Massachusetts resident, he has never had a valid Massachusetts driver’s license for a passenger vehicle and has never applied for a motorcycle license, the Registry of Motor Vehicles said.

Registry records show that Mieses applied for a learner’s permit in 1999 and 2000, but that he never obtained a full license because he failed to pay fines imposed after he was ticketed for speeding in Lawrence in 1999. His last contact with the Registry was in 2001, when he obtained an identification card, registry records show.

Since 1999, he has been ticketed by police 16 times, in Lawrence, Methuen, Roxbury, Andover, and New Hampshire, according to registry records.

In June, the Registry notified the National Driver Register that Mieses was a habitual traffic offender whose right to drive in Massachusetts was revoked until 2017, records show."

Fine upstanding citizen right there...

Not to sound like a dick, but that's the price you pay for being a unsafe driver. At the end of the day, he's another statistic. Luck can only be pushed so far.

It all depends with the circumstance and situation. What I read is that the bikers slashed his tires and dented his SUV just because he wouldn't come out of the SUV. The driver did the smart thing which was GTFO because he felt threatened. This happened seconds before he ran over that biker.

What I don't understand is why cops didn't show up. If it were me I'd have my wife call 911 as soon as they started coming after him. Hard to believe the driver or his wife didn't have a phone. Also, I understand NYC is very busy, but the chase did go on relatively long. He could have told cops exactly where he was going and where he was at all times.

Response time is probably dismal, the guy wouldn't have wanted to wait for cops while being swarmed by douchey bikers

I'd hope it's not that bad, but you could be right. I would have tried to drive to a police station.. or through the front door of a bank.

Not defending the bikers, not saying that they shouldnt have charged placed against them. Im just saying that I think there were wrongs on both sides.

I have a motorcycle and ride frequently. I have no sympathy for those a******s that got turned into human speed bumps.

Yeah the driver in the SUV should've stepped out, with his wife and 2yo daughter inside, and compare insurance coverage...that's the right thing to do.

they harassed, intimidated, used blunt objects as weapons, broke a dozen traffic violations, moved in a mob-like manner...

charges definitely SHOULD be put against them.
