Damn that article is great. I just finished reading it. I posted it earlier just because of the title, but now that I had time from work to sit and read it...wow!

Everything the write wrote is exactly how I feel about the game and the series.

Single player only got brought in because DICE started making the game for consoles. Releasing a multiplayer only game on consoles is a rarity, and console gamers are primarily single player gamers, not multiplayer.

I've always thought snipers only became popular on the console versions, I rarely saw sniping in BF2 PC. When I played competitively in a league, snipers were a useless class because they didn't provide any aggression.

BF2 was a lot better, because more players learned to play the game from earlier versions. BF1942 was the first of the series and filled with "smacktards". It took years of 1942 and the Desert Combat mod to get people to understand the game. Console gamers are going to have to go through the same evolution. You can actually see the community getting a little better from game to game. The original BC games could be horrible on console. People had no clue about tickets or how to organize.

LOL at the BC games...those were horrible on console. It's like...what's a ticket? lol

Did you ever play BF Vietnam on PC? That game was so much fun, but then when BF2 came out, it was like a whole other world, amazing.

Yeah I actually forgot BF:V came out before BF2. Vietnam was ok, but the overpowered choppers ruined it. 1942 was still my favorite. The WW2 stuff just had better balance between vehicles and infantry. I hope they remake it at some point.

Now all DICE has to do is fix the in game server browser and add server queue and I'll be set.
