Official Forza 5 discussion v2.0

So you're excited about feature that you have no clue what it actually does, or is it just the possibility of finally talking to a female that excites you :crazy:
Actually smart ass, they described what its purpose will be and I like that they are using Kinect within the game. As far as women go; foo please! You have NO idea. None whatsoever. Leave it be before you embarrass yourself.

She is your digital personal assistant and navigation in the game. She is also very intelligent and will suggest things to do in the game and give you a recap when you return to the games. She will also alert you when friends are online."

From the article linked above.

All I see is guesses from the Author. Nothing specifically stated for kinects actual use other than it will have a use. Also, chill Bill, it was just a little jokey joke.

Microsoft explains what kind of Kinect functionality its upcoming racer will offer

Although Kinect is no longer something developers can
rely on every Xbox One owner having
, it's continuing to be put to use in certain games--and you can now count Forza Horizon 2 among them.

Microsoft's upcoming racing game will feature an "on-board digital assistant" known as ANNA that functions as a GPS. Microsoft tells GameSpot that, by using Kinect voice commands, you can set your destination by stating the name of the location you want to reach. Once you've done this, you'll be guided to your location by what Microsoft hilariously refers to as "the acclaimed Forza 'green line.'" This will likely sound familiar to players of the original Forza Horizon, which offered a similarly convenient, Kinect-enabled GPS feature on Xbox 360.

ANNA can also be used to find events you should play next based on your progress: by simply asking, "What should I do next?" you'll be given event recommendations. ANNA also tracks what friends are doing; should a friend start an Online Road Trip, for instance, you'll be alerted so that you can can easily join his or her game.

Horizon 2's Kinect functionality is limited to voice only--Microsoft says it "does not feature head-tracking or motion controls." (Last year's Forza 5 offered limited head-tracking for looking around a car's interior.) This follows Turn 10 creative director Ralph Fulton telling the

Examiner
that the game would feature a Kinect-enabled assistant who is "very intelligent and will suggest things to do in the game and give you a recap when you return to the games," as well as "alert you when friends are online."

Just basic generic stuff. Does not even have head tracking.

One thing I wish they would add since they are doing these car meets is the ability to get out of your car and walk around. It would be awesome if they took the Avatar creator from Kinect Sport Rivals to create a virtual self. Then you could chat with the people at these meets and such. I think the way it is now is it seems very forced and the user has little control. Still like the idea but I think it could have been much more immersive than it is.

The environment they are driving in in the above video seems a bit boring, i'd like to see some truly beautiful places. For example i'd like to see the player driving up a mountain on a mountain path. I hope mountains won't just be meant for background purposes.

70% of that video was mountain paths. Do you mean they should have some crazy unrealistic elevations or something?

That video looks great to me. The game is so vivid and vibrant.

Driving around on those roads with the landscape beneath you. I've been there by car and you can really drive up mountains via a normal road and you get higher and higher up, and eventually you'll see the rest of the landscape under you. It's awesome. I hope to see those kind of things.

Well we haven't seen much of the game or its environments yet. So maybe there's something like the second pic in the game? But you would probably only be able to appreciate it via replays.

The first pic looks similar to the game imo. Just with a valley to the right instead of having a body of water to the left.

I think you want this game to be a certain other game don't you?

With how open this game is, I don't know how vertical the presentation will go. But we'll see.

Glad to finally see all the small details at the road sides most, if not all, wont even notice when driving through the landscape at 200+ kmh.

I'm sure you will see exactly that place. As far as I remember Alpe d'Huez was announced to be among the places in FH2 . I hope you can't drive through the fences there though ;)

Oh shiiiiiiiit....for real? That would be fantastic, cause i have been there multiple times on holiday, such a beautiful place. I'd absolutely love to just cruise around there. Then again, they did indeed talk about the inclusion of the Alps, and if i remember correctly...these are the well known Alps there.

I never played the first Horizon, but have been addicted for Forza 5 lately. How does the first Horizon still hold up? Would I enjoy going back to it (admittedly haven't even turned my 360 or PS3 on since the new systems released), or should I stick with F5?

I pop in Forza 5 every once in awhile, like tonight. I'm always amazed at how fast and how beautiful it is.

Can't wait for horizon 2 as I never bought the first game either. I did get to play it though.

Never played the first Horizon. I am not a fan of sim racers but I really like games like Burnout Paradise. Is Horizon like a traditional Forza game or more arcadey?

damn, game does look good. Crazy its open world and has that much detail.
