I'm not really up on this game, but am I reading right -- that 1) it's out in November and 2) it will include Project Morpheus support?

"we’re very excited that Project CARS is going to be launching in November"

"Project CARS will be one of the first games on PS4 to support virtual reality via the Project Morpheus headset. Finally, you’re going to really feel what it’s like sitting in the driving seat of a high performance machine as you look around the cockpit, glance left and right as you overtake an opponent, and get an exhilarating sense of speed as you scream down the finishing straight."

Wouldn't that require Project Morpheus to be out prior to November?

I'm confuseded.

My understanding is pCARS comes in November, and Project Morpheus comes after in 2015 at some point.

I'm looking forward to playing this with PM, but didn't Shu Yoshida say PM was not supported in Driveclub because it made players feel nauseous. It remains to be seen how this will all work in practice. I'm planning on getting a race seat + wheel + PM, I hope it's as good as I'm imagining it could be, I don't want to have to pull over every now and then to be sick.

Oh, okay. They didn't really make that clear in the article. Thanks.

Pretty...

bullshots... but still pretty :)

Actually NOT bullshots if the developer is to be believed. According to him, he hit pause on the game and took these shots of the game running on PS4.

PS4 thread, not vs. PC. Create another thread in MP section if you want to compare the two, discuss which looks better, etc. Thank you.

Not a chance.

At least, not while in actual gameplay mode. I will believe that when I see it :)

These are at BEST taken during cutscenes, or other post processed photo mode styles of in game engine. Definitely not paused, while playing screen grabs.

This, to me anyway, is the title to watch out for.. not Driveclub

I actually think they aren't bullshots.

The level of AA (FXAA?) and the texture quality seem consistent to in game gameplay.

I'm just relaying the message, that's absolutely what he said. Paraphrased obviously, but definitely accurate to his claim.

I dunno if maybe someone on here has the game on PC, maybe they can confirm that is how you take screenshots as I'm pretty sure the game (at least on PC) doesn't have a photo-mode.

I definitely understand the hesitation on taking that at face value, I was unconvinced when I saw it initially as well.

But PS4 can't do a 1080p 60fps racer!o_O
Odd isn't it. Both consoles are getting 1080p and 60fps pCars, and pCars is working a HUGE physics engine and pretty graphics. I think 60fps should be a no brainer for this game on these new consoles. This game has been in the oven for awhile, so it should have no excuse.

PC version does have photo mode.
It is ctrl+f.

I meant in the sense that it up-res the scene, adding extra post-processing effects, bloom, increased AA, better lighting etc etc, like Forza/GT. Is that the case? My bad if so.

The screenshots are apparently realtime according to Andy Tudor.

Res and framerate for any console version isn't confirmed, nothing about both PS4 and Xbox being 1080p 60.

Lots of misinfo in this thread as usual.

....*walks out of thread under the shadow of Angry Andy*

lol. I'm just trying to keep the "vs" talk to a minimum in the PS forum.

I created a thread in the MP forum for you guys to chat about it there, if you like.

How can it be gameplay unless you can move the camera around when the game is paused?

I don't have the game yet, as my PC would do it no justice but I did find a few videos to illustrate what he and Ascalaphus were talking about.

So it's basically a photo-mode, minus the traditional visual boost that expect from games like Forza and Gran Turismo. The only effect featured in the video is DOF, which is clearly used a bit in the shots we see here.

Good thing Project Cars is coming to the PS4. I think PS fans have been deprived long enough of a next gen racer.
