Didn't see a thread for it, thought it would be interesting topic.
I have, and have had a lot of weapons in my time with Destiny. The exotics that I currently have are Suros Regime, Hard Light, Patience and Time, Icebreaker, Truth, Thunderlord, Invective, Universal Remote, and Pocket Infinity. I have a back up legendary of each weapon type I listed. That way Im never stuck with a lesser weapon. I use different weapons depending on the situation, such as game mode and PvP map.
Im an AR primary user through and through. I generally use the Suros Regime, and have the Vanquisher VII as my back up in PvP. I did have a Shingen-E with bonus stability. Like an idiot I broke it down to make room in my vault. I really wish that I hadn't done that, as I really think that I could do better in the Crucible with it as my back up. I was expecting Hard Light to be a beast as its ratings are almost identical to the Shingen model, but I was wrong. I don't like the sight for Hard Light for one, and the recoil is atrocious imo even with the stability nearly maxed out. For the PvE I generally use Atheons Epilogue.
Shotgun wise I use the Found Verdict. It is fully auto, and has a 6 round magazine. The shotgun is a weapon type that I rarely use. My exotic shotguns Ill probably break down. Maybe Ill keep Universal Remote, but Invective could easily be replaced by doing the exotic bounty for it again.
Patience and Time is easily my favorite sniper rifle for PvP. Practically zero recoil, 6 round mag, 3rd eye radar, and active camo put it over the top of anything else. Sure Icebreaker has exploding rounds that have a chance to damage surrounding players. Really though, how often is that going to matter in PvP? Imo Icebreaker is better suited for the PvE.
For rocket launchers I have the exotic Truth, the legendaries Unfriendly Giant, and Hezen Vengeance. Imo the target seeking capabilities of a rocket launcher are best utilized in the PvP. I rarely use Truth as I usually have another exotic equipped. The tracking that the Unfriendly Giant has works just fine for me. I have killed snipers all the way across the map with Unfriendly Giant. For the PvE though I like the Hezen Vengeance. Holds 3 in the tube, has a huge blast radius, and has the Mirv secondary explosives. It is easy to clear out a large area of baddies. No tracking though, but imo tracking isn't all that important in the PvE.
Machine gun weapon type I have the exotic Thunderlord, and the legendary Zombie Apocalypse W47. This is another weapon type that I rarely use. If there is a Nightfall that has Arc Burn, or Void Burn then I break these out. For that reason alone I keep these weapons.
And the last weapon type that I use in my arsenal is the fusion rifle. I have the exotic Pocket Infinity, and the legendary 77 Wizard. I tend to use a fusion rifle instead of a shotgun in the PvP. I only use the 77 Wizard for the PvE. It has good impact, 8 round mag, but a slow charge time. My go to weapon is the Pocket Infinity. And if you don't already know, Pocket Infinity is a beast no matter what mode you are playing. lol I can hear people b****ing about fusion rifles as I type this. Pocket Infinity is a full auto fusion rifle. It has a 3 round mag, and will return missed rounds to the mag the majority of the time. This thing can turn your frown upside down in the PvP. If you don't have it yet, you want it, trust me. Look for an exotic bounty about a missing fireteam on Venus. Here is a 28 second clip I made this morning of me ruining 4 peoples day in about 13 seconds, and 2 of them were using their super.
