They really need an arcade racer. Motorstorm was fantastic and we need something similar in quality.
Generally speaking, though. Sony and Playstation need more diversity, their games line up is a 3rd person action fest.

And people think they are buying Take Two when this ActiBliz deal is finished for Xbox. lol. They are like 25-30 billion short.
If they really wanted to, they can always take on more long term debt to make certain acquisitions work but probably not. Even with Capcom, that's a reach. We will have to see what they are planning to do.
Not only are they short, the entire company value is only 100 billion. The rumor of Sony buying Take Two for $30 billion, nearly one third of the value of Sony, is clearly spread by a Sony Pony.
When MS announced they were acquiring Activision for 67 billion, the value of of MS was at $2 trillion.
Or invest in other studios, be it for gaming or movies and or R&D/tech

Outside of the odd game their games are all third person, action/adventure games. Uncharted, Horizon, God of War, Saclk Boy, Stray, Last Guardian, Ghosts of Tushima, Spider-Man, Shadow of the Collosus, Last of Us, Demon's Soul, etc.
It is actually surprising how little variety there is the first party line up.
That's where they excel at. The rest of the library can be filled from Indies, third party partners and timed exclusives.
