PS4 Sales Hit 7 Million

Ouch! Is Killzone really THAT bad? I'll be picking up a PS4 mainly for Battlefield. I might snatch up Infamous. I also had Killzone in mind but you guys are giving me second thoughts on that one now.

It's not that bad. It's okay. 7.5/10 from me.

Yeah I'd guess about 13 million, say another 2-3 million over the rest of the spring and summer then it'll pick back up during the fall and holiday season.

That extremely optimistic. 11-12m is a safer bet assuming/expecting demand will die down.
I think your wrong, I think demand will be there at holiday and I think supply will be there as well possibly. Could be looking at a very very big holiday.

I'm thinking if you take out the time from now until november, they will actualy hit the 11m mark with 7 millplus 4 million.

I think they will do 4 million WW nov-dec alone.

Of course this depends on a few things, games, price, bundles and most importantly what MS does with X1 and it's price.

If things sort of stay as they are now though, I am guessing over 14 million.

I think it's the best KZ to date...though I am NOT playing it very well. I keep dying and dying and dying...restarting checkpoints sometimes 20 times...and I am NOT playing on hard :(

I really enjoyed KZ as well. One of the better console FPS that just felt right blasting enemies in the face.

What a difference a generation makes. Last time I was gravely concerned about Sony and my $600 launch system.

I'm glad they were humbled and turned it around. PS4 is awesome and will provide the best overall console experience this generation.

Microsoft has been humbled quite a bit faster than Sony was. Hopefully they focus on the gamers going forward and continue making up the progress they lost.

Remember to use your bot friend for shields, attacks and disarming signals, haha.

Agreed. I really enjoyed the game. Is it a system seller? Probably not. But I'd say it's a must-have for any shooter fans who own a PS4.

Update: The 2 Killzone burdens I saw 2 days ago, which cost 499€ (Thats the price of X1 here,) are now gone. These things sold fast.

The holiday season will be big for both consoles... especially if the Xbox One gets a price drop (which I think it will; pretty inevitable).

I think the PS4 will be at 13 million at the end of the year and the Xbox One will be at 9 million -- so almost two times what both of them have sold worldwide now. I think the sales of both consoles will die down a bit during the summer as there's no major exclusive releases coming to either console but then quickly pick back up as we get to the major Fall exclusives.

20 million+ for current gen consoles in one year would be a great feat and it seems like it's inevitable at this point. Great response to people who have stated that consoles are doomed.

Any guesses on 8 million PS4s?

I'm guessing mid-late May, assuming ~150k per week since April 6's 7 million.

May is a big month with MLB 14: The Show, Bound by Flame, Transistor, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and Watch Dogs. So it could be higher than 150k a week.

I'm guessing they'll announce 8.something PS4s sold at E3 in the 2nd week of June (June 10th).

It'll hit 8m by the time Watch Dogs rolls out I reckon. A few gamers I know who were going to hold off next gen are now jumping in and I suspect a few more will do for both systems. I think Watch Dogs is the first proper AAA game for both consoles and though it may be coming out for current gen it will undoubtedly will be seen as a next gen experience.
