PS4 Sales Hit 7 Million

That's definitely impressive. 7 million sales in a matter of 5 months. Nobody can knock that. I bought a PS4 for the awesome first party games that will undoubtedly come to the console. Infamous: Second Son was a good start. Still on the fence about where i'll play the majority of my multiplats. Most likely i'll just spread the love around like last gen.

But if i never play another PS4 game.. Final Fantasy XIV is enough for me and that's not even exclusive. I think that's one spot games wise, where Microsoft kinda dropped the ball. Half of my 360 experience was playing FFXI. Likewise half of my PS2 experience was playing FFXI. I know MMOs aren't for everyone but not supporting such popular games because of a policy? It doesn't make much sense to me. I know people who bought a 360 just to play FFXI. You didn't even need a Live sub for it since you're already paying the monthly fee. I guess they didn't like people buying their console and not the sub..

Very impressive numbers for Sony in both hardware and software.


Slowing down a little now but no on could have expected it to sell this fast.

Is PS4 still hard to find where you guys from. I for once have not seen a PS4 on sale here in Middle Hessen area of Germany.

Edit: Finally saw PS4 on sales. 2 sets of Killzone burden at 499€

Well they are almost half way after 4 months, and like starseeker said, they do not really have many system pushing games. You would expect that to change come E3. Plus, they are way beyond the Wii at this point in time and it managed it.

Its a pretty widespread opinion that Xbox One has better 1st party offerings thus far then the PS4.

Wow it is beating the original Wii. It has to slow down now you'd think. Though I guess if you want a new console it is the console to get now it seems.

Agree with the launch window talk (if I didn't I wouldn't of purchased a PS4 1st)
But strongly disagree with Infamous being close to the best exclusive.

Not really? What first party offerings do they have exactly? Tf? nope, EA. Ryse? Nope? DR3? Nope, you can try to reword that I guess.

But we're not talking about what "is" great....are we? This is a thread about how many consoles the PS4 sold...not what people "think" are better games.

No I've seen a few on the shelf's. they seem to sell out fast ut you can get one now same goes for One I see those even more then PS4's.

I'm in Canada mind you and not in a city sure they're harder to come by in those areas.

Other than that, killzone is horrible, you forgot flower and a lot of other games that are sony first party ctually. Knack is better than killzone. Not sure how you can give one of the worse fps games I have ever played (well, compared to budgets, time etc) a not too bad rating though.

Not even sure what was happening half the time, falling into a crashing city, seemed like a good idea on paper I guess...
But my point was, it's actaully pretty hard to find "MS"s first party offerings.

d00d ask anyone who keeps track of my posting how hyped I was for KZSF...only to feel underwhelmed by it when It released. But its "okay".... Knack deserves the slack more so me thinks.
 
I was a little hyped for KZ too, but man did it turn out completely opposite of what made me hyped for it. I thought it was gonna be like "party" deus ex, where you travel through out the city meeting objectives. Turned out to make no sense, have horrible gameplay, super bland levels. i thought oatmeal was gonna shoot out of the walls like confetti :( That may have saved it.

Eating dry uncooked oatmeal could actually bring some excitement though so, > kz.

In all seriousness this is an epic milestone so soon after launch. And it doesn’t look like Sony will lift their foot off the gas anytime soon and continue to dominate with their next wave of game releases in the near future.

I hear some of you guys complaining about Killzone. True, it wasn’t what I had hoped for but I thought the campaign was really well done. I thought it was quite the accomplishment to give their shooter an open world feel and the freedom which let us tackle objectives when we wanted was a positive addition. It seems like GG is still searching for the identity of the Killzone franchise as it continues to change.

They made some really good decisions that I hope carry over and refine those that didn’t work so well, its time to embrace random spawn points instead of a spawn base. Now if only they would release the co-op mode I’m desperately anticipating to play. I’ve already given GG a deadline until Watch Dogs comes out late next month. No Killzone co-op by then means I’m selling Killzone towards the purchase of Watch Dogs. I don’t want to do it GG but you are leaving me no choice since there is no news on the co-op mode some 5 months after launch. If GG showed a teaser trailer of the co-op mode and set a date that was further out than my own self imposed deadline I would hang on to the game. So make it happen GG. I need Horde Mode Killzone style.
 
Didn't really have a open world feel, had a couple of open levels and yeah. Hope their next game is better atleast. I do have high expectations for Club and order though.

Yeah nothing on the X1 list appeals to me at all and when comparing infamous to other PS4 exclusives I think it's much better than KZ. Honestly though I still think AC4 is the best all around game that's come out on either console so far. It's not perfect and yeah it's a cross gen port but I still think it's the best game I've played so far in the new gen. Obviously that's just what I think of these games, my opinions aren't facts and nobody can really tell someone else what to like so if you like those other games better then I say have fun :)
 
Ouch! Is Killzone really THAT bad? I'll be picking up a PS4 mainly for Battlefield. I might snatch up Infamous. I also had Killzone in mind but you guys are giving me second thoughts on that one now.
