Rainbow Six live stream from 7/17

I've been waiting for Rainbow and Ghost Recon yo go back to their roots for a while now. Ghost Recon FS had a super AMAZING gun smith options, but the game was weak and to casual. This seems to be.more what I'm looking for.

I hope they have a terrorist hunt mode. I might cry a little if they don't

on the videos the first two rounds are staged... the later half of the stream is unscripted and you can tell. they aren't as coordinated.

The fact that there is a planning stage and it looks like the game is structured so there can't really be a lone gunman to succeed, means teamwork will be key.

I agree, I think the planning stage is really cool.

I remember the old Rainbow sixes... you would have to position your entry (AI) teams, tell them when to breach, and coordinate the whole deal. This looks similar, only with real people on the other side of the conflict.

This will either be a runaway team tactical hit, or suffer from "meh" syndrome like a game from last gen that fizzled out fast.

Online there is always a lone gunman, almost always when you play with randoms and sometimes even when you play with friends...

While this is true...one should work with their friends and just say "hey, let's do this as a team". If you have someone that doesn't want to play as a team, then ask them to leave, or have them join you in a round later on when you don't care if there is a lone gunman.

I have a regular group of friends (real life) that play all together, and we don't do the lone gunman thing in any team based objective games.

I too have a bunch of real life friends that I regularly game with and for the most part we always work as a team. It's the ransoms or the friends that you only casually game with that can really ruin it, especially if that's all you can find to play with.

I just hope they show some new settings at gamescom. I would like to see something bigger, something like a shopping mall, or even a bank.

Yeah, that does sucks for sure. That said, I tend to be a lone gunman when I am with unknown other gamers. But if they get on the mic and ask to work as a team, I am in.

What I find funny is every XB (360/XB1) comes with a mic, on most team based games almost no one talks, when communication is essential to win. Then you have the COD/Halos where people don't shut up...

Never understood why people buy games that are team/teamwork oriented just to go lone wolf. What is the point of that ? Take FIFA for example, why would you go play the 11 V 11 game modes just to hog the ball and try to do everything ? its a team sport, pass the ball. All that does is lessen the experience that the game is trying to provide, and ruin the experience for others.

What kills me the most is people that just want to get kills/lone wolf it and they play objective/team based games game types, then get pissed when you boot them, especially when it's clearly marked in the server info.

Achievements ? Has been a long while since a game released without them, but I remember the days before them being a bit more mature, a bit more team oriented, or maybe that is just time f***ing with my mind.

A lot of times there is no choice though, if your playing w/some randoms who "refuse" to talk what else can you do? Gotta love it when at the match midpoint/end game lobby you can hear your teammates clearing their throat or background noise, if you have the mic on why the hell not talk?!

Achievements ? Has been a long while since a game released without them, but I remember the days before them being a bit more mature, a bit more team oriented, or maybe that is just time f***ing with my mind.

That's prolly the biggest offender these days, that and in game challenges. I was playing Titanfall the other night, myself and 3 of my friends, hard point domination and one guy on our team was just out to kill people. We eek'd out the win and that dude ended the match with something like 16/18 K/D and zero points on offense or defense, he just sat in the same area the whole match.

I get the feeling that a ton of work hasn't been done on this game yet. With that being said, I'm sure a company like Ubisoft could put together a competent multiplayer shooter in 18-24 months.

You and your friends are ARMATURES! When I was in SAS we were taught to communicate via breathing sounds.

Camping in many objective games is needed actually.

What does camping in a random spot on the map no where near an objective and not even doing well in the match help us win an objective match?

That is what I do not understand the people that love to camp and still do not do well in the match. Maybe you should change up play style and you would do better or help win.
