If there’s two it would make sense if they’re both equally powerful, there’s no logical reason as to why Xbox should be the weakest and most powerful next gen platform again.

I *see* any game that is already out should not be allowed to show at E3 main show. It is pointless.

This can be done in a trailer out of main shows.

Honestly, I could see them trying to buy up the CryEngine. It would give them access to a powerful engine and even a opportunity to license it out.

Crytek hasn't been in a great spot, so they may be prime pickins....

Doesn’t Amazon own part of Crytek, like a teeny tiny bit, that’s why their engine is pretty much the cryengine???

I think Amazon bought the rights to use the Cry Engine and integrate it with their servers with the permission to license it out. Amazons version is called Lumberyard.
I know that Crytek tried to sue Cloud Imperium Games (Star Citizen) for changing over to Amazons Lumberyard engine.

I'm surprised that E3 is only 5 weeks away. It snuck up on me.

Sunday, June 9
Microsoft -- Microsoft has scheduled its traditional Xbox-focused conference for June 9 at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET. The company plans to "go big," according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer. Square Enix -- For the second year in a row, the RPG giant is holding its own live E3 presentation. Nintendo typically holds its pre-recorded Nintendo Direct E3 briefings on the Tuesday morning of E3 week, so if history holds, you can expect that to happen again. However, Nintendo hasn't made any official announcements about a Nintendo Direct E3 briefing as of yet.

I'm looking forward mostly to Ubisoft, they always put on a good show.

I hope Phil isn't blowing smoke up our ass. Going Big sounds great. I would love to see the new console concept. And of course their game ideas from their studios. This is Microsoft's E3 for the taking, if they don't blunder....

Yeah, agree. MS's conference will probably be the only one I really watch. The others, I'll just catch highlight reels of what interests me. But I'm interested to see what MS shows and how they approach this E3. I was encouraged by the studio acquisitions last year, but I'm hoping for some juicy game reveals this time. As usual, I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment, lol.

Just expect new console announcements, new studio acquisitions, and some acknowledgement that they know games matter and a promise that they will be there someday. Hopefully they will finally start announcing games instead of saying they matter but that thinking is how you set yourself up for disappointment.

Well, that's the E3 tradition, isn't it...

I do hope for a Fable reveal and info about the new Ninja Theory game. I'm particularly interested in the Fable reveal, because it might give us a sense of what the design and art style will be like. I would expect more info about Outer Worlds, even though it's multiplat. I think that's going to be a good game. I've also heard there are a couple more studio acquisitions in the mix, and those would be nice to hear about, too.

I think that's all I'm truly expecting. It's not a lot, it's nothing that will blow my socks off, but it will be interesting to see. I am sort of immune to marketing talk from MS at this point. I want to see action and results. They're getting there. Like Hedon said, this is their E3, and they basically have the show floor to themselves. So, hopefully they put a lot of effort into it.

I think Microsoft will have one or two bangers in there. I'm expecting a good show - basically a culmination of just about everything they've been working on for next gen.

The vision for it should be alot clearer, that's for sure.

I will say it now. I am betting that people will be expecting bombshell announcements, as well as all new games A B C D will be released on dates E F G H, and has to be over the course of this year and next year, has to be AAA, has to be 60 FPS games. And even then it won’t be good enough.

Yeah, people (including me) always get their hopes up during E3 season and then they come crashing down. You'd think we'd learn, but some of us are slow learners, lol. Personally, I think I've got pretty reasonable expectations at this point. When things get closer to E3 and the hype train picks up steam, who knows. Last year I got hold of some weed around E3 time, and I got a little carried away with myself. Hey, if you can't get stoned and make an ass of yourself during E3 season, when can you...

You would think Microsoft would take advantage of Sony not being around and have a big E3 but next year will be more important so they probably shouldn't go all in.

Hey on the upside, it made me super enthusiastic about the Xbox. Even got me to buy one... I tend to get very "into" videogames when I run across weed (funny how that works), which is a few times a year. I also tend to post more on forums. I also wander into places I wouldn't go otherwise, like the political thread, and talk s***.

I hereby issue a group apology for my periodically stoned behavior. Otoh, I make no promises that it will stop, so my level of remorse is questionable. :tounge:

I'd definitely take either a remaster or new Dino Crisis. I'll believe it when I see it though.
