I'm honestly hoping for something NOT Halo related actually. Not to take anything away from the Chief as he still remains my man and $100,000.00. But I'd like to see 343 break the mold and bring the X1 something equally delicious and ground breaking.

If they werent going to let Bungie do games that werent Halo then they probably arent going to let 343.

No real indication that they are even talented enough as a studio for me to even want that.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say

Halo 5
Halo ODST2
Halo: Cortana's Redemption (totally an RPG obviously)

Halo 6

Those would be awesome. A Halo RPG, or in the vein of Mass Effect would be cool. I thought ODST was a great side story in the Halo trilogy that mixed up the Halo formula just enough, with some great atmosphere and a mellow soundtrack that suited the game to a tee. The thing I'll miss most about the Bungie era Halo games are the soundtracks, Marty O'Donnell created some great music for those games.

Seems while every other topic has gotten better with the move, Halo discussion stays the same.

Nice article. Too bad they couldn't review the cool features like cloud, HDMI in, Kinect stuff, etc..

Something about that article bothers me.. Maybe it's the fact that it seems like an amalgamation of previous preview articles. I could have wrote that without ever demoing an xbox.

The Xbox One is going to be amazing. With the power of the cloud the sky's the limit for what Microsoft can do.

He cant be. Halo3 was terrible as well.

You're kidding right? Halo 3 & 4 were amazing Halo games. Actually they were great games in general. Halo 3 was the perfect follow up to Halo 2, the MP may not have been better than Halo 2, but the campaign was great. Halo 4 was even better and I enjoy the MP to an extent.

I really don't see how people can call Halo 3 & 4 bad games.

Dead serious. They tried to make it new user friendly and ignored the faithful. I used to log on xbl and see at least 5 people on halo, once halo 4 came out, its more like MAX of 4.

How does that even equate to it being a bad game? And user friendly in what way? My friends on average at least 6 people playing Halo when I usually log on. I really don't see how they "ignored the faithful".

Boy you've got a houseful!! I'm from a family of 8 kids and loved it. Have two grown daughters (23 and 27), wanted more but wasn't meant to be!

I grew up an only child, but my parents were both from large familes (6 and 11) so I always liked the atmosphere when getting together with family, decided to start bringing back the large families lol

Halo 4 was the best Halo game out of the series. 343 nailed it and I bet they have another AAA game in Halo 5.

Halo Wars is on my hit list so if they make that I will be one happy head. Another ODST type game wouldn't hurt either.

That is statistically wrong. Just saying. http://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/Halo

Since when did sales determine whether a game was good or not? CoD is a crap game that sells like hot cakes, and there are TONS of great games that didn't sell well, some that didn't even sell enough to recoup budget

You would be better off comparing metacritic scores, gamespot scores, user scores etc than sales...statistically speaking

HALO2 ANNIVERSARY.
It needs a bit more help than a simple HD makeover though. And they ABSOLUTELY need to remake that E3 level that Bungie made, then scrapped. Also, 60f/s please.
Don't make the multiplayer an extension of Halo4 or Halo5 either like they did with Halo:CEA - make it it's own thing.

I also think they should have given Halo:CEA another quick makeover for XboxOne and packed it in with the console.
Get every Halo:CE map remake from all the Halo games & give them a makeover too and include them with the game.
Like Halo2 HD above, make the multiplayer it's own game, not an extension of Halo4 CoD.
60f/s and throw in bots for mp too.

I would then want an XboxOne if MS did that.

that would so work... perhaps as an xbox live title, along the lines of "child of the light", only where cortana (what remains of here) is battling out other ai's whilst trapped in the forerunners network/mainframe/computers. she fights her way solely to survive and preserve herself in there until someone could extract her. maybe the final boss would be sort of a blueball tease of a battle, say its something massively monumental and in the end shes about to be "deleted" for good and BAM! she gets pulled out by someone, who, we wont know till a latter halo game :p

Personally I agree with the second statement, but numbers matter. I am not comparing other games sales numbers, I am not comparing anything but halo vs halo, and halo 4 was not what it should or could have been. While I admire the attempt 343 made, at the same time it is obvious they bit off more than they could chew.

Honestly all we need is to look at the abysmal XBL numbers and they indicate that Halo 4 is nowhere near where it should be.

EDIT - Sorry to derail the topic, I had no intention of getting this off topic. - Back on topic, I truly hope it is a Halo Wars 2 or something with Spark and a halo themed dlc.

Statistically wrong? What does that even mean? Opinions can't be statistical.

Oh, you want to go by sales? Okay. In that case, you want to know what the single best selling game of all time is?

Wii Sports! (Seriously, look it up)

Yep, it's statistically better than Halo. Statistically better than any other Triple A title.

It isn't a bad game. It is only bad compared to other Halos

You are seriously that butt hurt over halo 4? Serious question.

Packaged in games should be along side Barry Bonds home runs.

And no sales are not everything, they do indicate reaching MORE PEOPLE and STATISTICALLY Halo 4 doesn't hold up to this "GOOD" standard in XBL activity alone; Yes opinions are opinions but that also means opinions can be wrong, disagreed with, disputed, AND stupid.

I'm going to just now out now and let you guys get back to the thread. This isn't good for the new forum.

EXACTLY!

This is great news. My current Hauppauge is component only which works with my 360. But X1's are HDMI only, so this will definitely help anyone streaming, since you can't go the component cable recording method to get around the digital copy protection.

Relax, I'm not angry at you. I just thought it was dumb to say "statistical".

Personally I think Halo 4 was one of the best in the series.

Of course, I only ever play Campaign. I hear more of the complaints com from the multiplayer side.

They did seem to beat around the bush a bit about a possible Halo 2 anniversary last year.....

Turn 10: Xbox One gives Forza 5 multiplayer "great advantages kind of for free"

"We can just tap in and get dedicated servers."

Will certain Xbox One games benefit from free access to dedicated Microsoft servers? That's what some in the media are suggesting, but we've yet to light on a concrete statement to this effect from the manufacturer. Turn 10's Dan Greenawalt has muddied the waters still further, telling OXM at Gamescom that as an Xbox One title, Forza Motorsport 5 enjoys "great advantages kind of for free".

"Racing gamers are also looking for great multiplayer, and the nice thing about being on Xbox One is that we get great advantages kind of for free, so it's kind of cheating," he explained to us. "We get dedicated servers. Now we can get dedicated servers on Xbox 360, but you have to do the work - now, we can just tap in and get dedicated servers, which gives you better quality of service as a racing gamer."
Turn 10 is, of course, a first party studio, but it's rumoured that Microsoft has struck similar deals with third parties. Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox One will also run on dedicated Microsoft servers, "ensuring the best multiplayer experience will be on Xbox One", in the words of Infinity Ward's executive producer Mark Rubin. However, when we asked whether Sony might also provide dedicated servers for the PS4 version, Rubin was unable to comment.

The nearest we have to a definitive account of what Microsoft's touted Xbox One cloud support actually represents comes care of Respawn Entertainment, developer of the always-online Xbox console exclusive Titanfall. "I personally talked to both Microsoft and Sony and explained that we need to find a way to have potentially hundreds-of-thousands of dedicated servers at a price point that you can't get right now," the developer's Jon Shiring wrote in June.

"Microsoft realized that player-hosted servers are actually holding back online gaming and that this is something that they could help solve, and ran full-speed with this idea," he continued. Later in the piece, however, Shiring revealed that Respawn would still pay for Microsoft's server support, albeit at a very reasonable price.

"With the Xbox Live Cloud, we don't have to worry about estimating how many servers we'll need on launch day. We don't have to find ISPs all over the globe and rent servers from each one. We don't have to maintain the servers or copy new builds to every server. That lets us focus on things that make our game more fun.

"And best yet, Microsoft has datacenters all over the world, so everyone playing our game should have a consistent, low latency connection to their local datacenter. Most importantly to us, Microsoft priced it so that it's far more affordable than other hosting options - their goal here is to get more awesome games, not to nickel-and-dime developers."

The "great advantages" available to Forza 5 include Xbox Live's revised match-making and reputation systems. "We also get Smart Match, which puts you together with other gamers from your region, or who speak your language, or who play games the way you play them, so you're paired with fewer cheaters and fewer jerks," Greenawalt remarked at Gamescom. "Unless you're a cheater or a jerk, and then you get to play with cheaters and jerks all day. Have fun!"

Another advantage touted by Microsoft is the ability to carry out non-time-critical processing on servers, allowing developers to devote more of the console's resources to latency-sensitive tasks such as graphics rendering. When we first laid eyes on Forza 5, Greenawalt revealed that the game can run at 1080p and 60 frames a second because certain tasks are offloaded to the cloud.
