Maybe there’s a spot you’ve visited on holiday or passing through and just dropped in out of sheer curiosity and loved it....but rarely go to, like on a special occasion. Places like in-n-out, White Castle, Tim Hortons or Bobs Big Boy don’t count, because big franchise...so, preferably, go for like mum and pops/hole-in-the-wall

If your ever in socal and...

1. want a great burger and in Oceanside visit Nessy’s Burger

2. great (i.e. legit) Hawaiian food Gardena Bowl Coffee in Gardena

3. Awesome sandwiches at Mr. Pickles in Lake Forest

I miss those them so much

This was a very random find: Kewanee One Stop in Toomsuba, Mississippi on I-20 / I-59 with a diner section called Doogie's BBQ. I was just looking for a place to park and got amazing food.

It's in an independent gas station or sort of travel stop and sort of truck stop with a dirt lot across the street.

Inside this place though is a Southern BBQ experience. This little place sells Ribs or Pulled Pork or Brisket as well as excellent hamburgers. I also tried the best BBQ Baked Beans I've ever had here.

If you in my area you gotta try the seafood.

Houston go with BB’s Tex-Orleans
Lake Charles go with Steamboat Bills

Both have some damn good seafood.

Mobile Bay does well for seafood to.

For something more upscale FELIX's Fish Camp is one of my favorite places close to me on the Causeway road that runs along I-10 across Mobile Bay.

Really good Crab Soup and I like to get their Shotgun Shrimp made with a Habanero and Thai Chili and Chipotle sauce. It's not as blazing hot as it sounds but it has a decent kick.

Nice views of the Gulf while dining there to.

I find my house to be quite an enjoyable experience. Can dine in my underpants, as is our human right, always have extra sauce, and I change the TV to whatever I want. Honestly, I went to a place called Palermo's, in Oak Lawn, which is kind of a family favorite, and definitely one of my mine. The pizza is fantastic, but I met my parents there and we were seated like six inches away from occupied tables. Every dining place I've been too has either been space out or left a sign saying "do not sit at this table." Meanwhile we were all getting funneled in. I was quite disappointed with what I always saw as a quality dining experience, and outside of covid, it usually is.

I will totally admit that 7-11s steak and cheese taquitos are a guilty pleasure. That’s coming from a guy that weighs out his meals and eats brown rice, chicken, and veggies like 10-12 times a week lol.

Finishing up a work travel dealy and had to look up a Texas BBQ joint before I go back home.

The Juicy Pig in Denton, TX downtown.

This place is very small and I think mostly serving to go. They only have one table and a counter.

Got a 'Smokey Mountain' pulled pork and sausage sandwich with pickle and cole slaw. Reminded me of stuff I've had in Tennessee. Also, side of Barracho Beans which is kind of new to me but tasty.

Wait, coleslaw on the side, not in the sandwich?

If you're ever in Buffalo - https://anchorbar.com/

Pro tip: don't call them "Buffalo" wings, and don't dip them in ranch

I was on Cape Cod and people kept telling me I had to eat here. I was like "ok, what's the big deal"? Well, OMG. So bleeping good. I actually want to plan a vacation just to have this lobster roll again. In the summer the line starts at like 10am for lunch.

Wait, why no to ranch?

I'm on a temp assignment for work helping at a warehouse in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Finally got a day off and while exploring the area found this place.

Liberty Diner has American Diner food with a Greek influence. I had a Greek Gyro Omelette that was awesome. Nice owner and waitstaff.

I wish there was one closer to me. My wife and I stayed in DC for the weekend and visited it twice.
