As we have a PS4 topic might as well have this.

Seen one video about a faulty disc drive but that's it so far?

Maybe Adam Orth intentionally sabotaged these on his way out of the building so you have to be go digital and have your console always online.

Very few, and funny enough when people post it on forums the usually post those same vids.

You have to figure this stuff is in the usual 5-10% range. 1 in 10 or less has problems, but then those people all go & post...then everybody thinks it's widespread as f*ck. Who knows, it's too early to tell. These things can't be as bad as the RROD from 360 & how that was almost 30%. lol.

My X1 will not play anything this morning. RYSE don't play. KI and FIFA will not play. Just keeps snapping back to the Home Screen.

Now doing 1st factory reset within its 1st 8hours of life :smash:

Makes me wonder the real number of affected PS4. Anyways, with the console already launched in Aus and Europe and even in NA, this level of reports or lack thereof can't be bad.

I thought mine was stuck at the logo but it just took really really long. I started hitting A and I heard a sound effect and eventually the screen flipped to something else.

and a few scratched consoles
that's it
and a scratched console does not affect the machine from running

Would still be annoyed at paying over £400 and it being scratched when I opened it.

No problems with mine but I did start panicking when that green screen with the Xbox logo stayed on for quite a while. Got to say I love it. Really futuristic.

thats it? Ha, thats nothing as long as it doesnt brick which i never had a console brick after an update on me. But then again MS dont do 1,000 firmware update with in the same year.

I always feel like I'm going to be the unlucky dude when reading these. I hope none of you guys get these problems. I'm off work and it would suck to have to deal with stuff like that.

So there's no progress bar, just a green logo screen when updating?

sorted my problem!! :)
anyone on BT broadband home hub 4 in the UK, you have to use internet explorer first and then the smart wireless set up comes on! then you just enable it and your good to go!! (i turned this feature off now)
it was blocking all my apps, thumbnails etc so my UI was blank!! all super now though :D

A faulty disc drive, I could live with that. I would wait untill next year to get a replacement unit. I may actually never use the disc drive, going all DD, and got a HQ 3D Blueray player.
But I'm glad to see there is very few issues with X1, sorry for those few affected oc
Congrats MS :bang:

Really sucks for the ones affected, i must say that i didn't expect it. But if the number is still very low good...end of the day these are electronics and it's always somewhat of a gamble.

I had a faulty DVD drive in a PC I ordered not too long ago. Stuff like that can happen during shipping.

This disc drive problem somewhat scares me, cause my current 360 is having that too. nowadays it wont just run the game right away as soon as the tray has closed, i have to open the tray again and close it, and after a few tries...it recognizes the game. Difference is...this 360 is quite old and the X1 has only just been released. What kind of disc drive problem is it exactly?
