This game launched today!

So, I know it's VR-only, and I get why others are anti-Facebook enough to skip that platform, as well, but I still can't believe nobody here is talking about this game getting ported to Quest 2.

I have played through the first couple levels, and let me start out by saying that the game is good. However it's so odd to have a GameCube game played native on a modern, portable VR all-in-one device, piped directly to your eyes and ears. It's gotten a MAJOR interface overhaul, so it feels so new, while the audio samples and polygon surroundings feel so retro at the same time. It's an odd and yet somehow pretty enjoyable mix. While this game might not be as outright terrifying as REVII on PSVR, it is also probably more fun, as you finally have detached aim mechanics with the Touch controllers, as opposed to playing on a standard controller. You are free to swipe your knife, as well. In fact, you will see your weapons on your body, and can grab them at will. Your gun is in a holster, ammo on the opposite hip, and shotgun is strapped to your back... and it's quite satisfying reaching over your main arm shoulder to grab that, as well as manually reload it. Medical spray is on the opposite shoulder.

There's still the same complex menu system that you can jump to to pause the game, and mix herbs, and use your map.

There's also the typewriter! Wow! A modern era remake in VR, with a typewriter to saveyour game! However, this time the typewriter has functional keys! It's weirdly satisfying to type real words into a virtual typewriter in a remake of an ancient game. I'm not sure why that is, but I cannot be the only one.

That's it so far. I'm going to keep playing. I have made it a point to stay away from reviews until now, so I'm curious to see what others have said.

I also haven't figured out how to retrieve my own images on Quest yet, so I had to search for a couple pics. Pictures do not really do justice to a VR game, anyway, though.

Here's a good review, and now I'm kicking myself for not trying to fill flip my weapons.
