Official Thread Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 (Xbox SX/PC) May 21, 2024

So...they're pricing it as a AA release? This is extremely interesting.

Any once kind of surprised that this game is going to be as short as the first after the long dev time?

Yes, also same people who were making fun of other games with similar lengths now have nothing to say about this one's... unsurprisingly.

I think the length plus the fact it's digital has it priced as a shorter AA game like Miles Morales.

I think making it digital only might not make as much of a difference for Hellblade 2 because 1) over half of XS consoles are XSS so they are already purchasing digital, PC is digital and 2) Gamepass which is all digital.

So the only people missing out would be XSX owners who prefer physical copies for collection/resale basically which out of the whole picture is probably not that significant.

The only disappointing thing, more of a heartbreaking issue, is the fact that it’s digital only. I can kinda see why it is, it doesn’t have the cache of other games, like DMC or Journey To The West. But hopefully they do something limited later directors cut?

Yeah. Alan Wake 2 was controversial with its digital only decision (and still is?) so not surprised some also don't like how there's no option to buy physical for a story / narrative based game.

They should have a disc.

That said, between GamePass, Steam sales, Series S owners, and Series X digital buyers, probably 90% of people who play the game would have done so digitally anyway.

With Alan wake I wonder if the reason behind it going (keeping it) digital was instituted by epic….I don’t think they’ve release a physical game in ages

I remember an article saying to help cut costs and also allows the devs more time to work on the final build of the game before release.

A disc is a waste of money. Disc sales are pretty much dead on Xbox.

Here comes the fake outrage

0 word on AW2 being digital only.

I would definitely buy this on disc over digital if given the choice but are people just going to pretend this hasn't been happening since the 360/PS3 era?

Plenty of games have been released with a box containing a code only.

Which should not be happening. The whole game should be on the physical disc if it is a boxed copy !

Lots of gamers annoyed about this kind of conduct from the gaming companies.

Hellblade 2 looks great.

Enter the troll Driedmangoe's to ruin another thread with his nonsense. Shock!!!!

Nobody gives a f*** that it's digital. I mean, I am sure there are some grandpas out there still upset that they can't get 8 tracks anymore, but they will get over it when they die.

Did he forget Baldurs Gate 3? Granted it later got a ce/se physical, which I feel this deserves, at least

Dried in here with his fake outrage as he was playing it from Game Pass if he played at all.

Options are great and there are definitely lots of XSX owners out there who want a physical copy and how could you blame them.

I never said that there wasn't a few people out there that still want physical. And we already know that Xbox will never be a Game Pass box, as Game Pass has maxed out at 10-15%.

You said and I quote "nobody" and "some grandpa's"... Lots of assumptions there. I think most complaining just want the option and since there is none they just venting. If they really want to play the game and support they will have no choice but to play on GP or buy digital.
