I hate that they are remaking this!

Don't get me wrong, it's only a decent movie with a not as good sequel, but now I get to lose the nostalgia part too. It's really just not something that needs to be remade. Hollywood is just so dumb when it comes to ideas, most of the time.

It was ahead of it's time, but now that time is nearly here and it doesn't quite mesh in a similar way that TRON: Legacy had cool visuals, but the world building underneath was kind of silly.

I mean we are seeing amazing creations like the android project Sophia from Hanson Robotics or the unnerving headless robot doggos from Boston Dynamics. Or any number of things from Japan / China.

The robots are here and in many ways have surpassed Johnny 5 already. Maybe it could be argued Johnny 5 is not like these but designed for the military, but most that is headed toward Drone warfare.
