So how come nobody uses their mic on BF1?

BF games are so much better when you can coordinate with your squad! The few times I have had a whole squad communicate we dominated. This has been driving me crazy lately. Total silence in almost every match. I can understand that being the case in TDM, but the other more "tactical" game modes are so much better when your squad talks.

Everyone's in party chat and it sucks. Not just this game but just about every game has dead lobbies due to party chat

Anytime I play BF with friends we are in party chat and only want our group in the squad because most randoms suck.

This is why I do not play BF1 much solo because you can never find a squad that talks. I play COD more when no friends are online.

Rainbow Six Siege is a good game when it comes to finding random teammates that like to talk. Easy to stay grouped together after the match is over.

You don't need it in BF. A good squad leader will be always setting objectives and giving rally point orders. If the squad follow or not is another thing.

But yeah, as others said, people are usually in party chat. That's fine by me as well. I remember the poisonous diatribes that used to be the main chat.

I find it really helpful because you can communicate complex ideas instantly, like "You three go left here and cover us from that window, other guy hide in this spot near me and revive me if I die setting explosives on this objective". Also little things like "Hold up! (shoots camper hidden in some nook around the corner) Ok let's go." just can't be communicated any other way. When I have been with four good players that communicate like that we are absolutely unstoppable!

That's so lame. I guess I need way more friends! For me there are NEVER enough of them online at the same time playing BF1 to even make up a squad.

Wouldn't be surprised if they aren't even playing the same game a lot of the time

I wish it would just show when people are in party chat so I'd know when to stop talking. I talk all the time, hoping someone listens.

Last week I was yelling at a dude in my squad because he was sitting way back in a tank just lobbing shots across the map (tank sniping...I HATE that on Conquest). He started talking after awhile, then slowly everyone in our squad started talking. We bagan to coordinate taking objectives and we started destroying everyone.

One really good squad working together can make all the difference but it's rare when it happens with random players.

What surprises me is how many bad players their are in online shooters. You can always tell the players playing together/working together. I can't stand randoms that camp and not even play the objective or help in any way.

I started muting people a long time ago simply because I got tired of hearing what sounded like teenage white kids calling everyone the N word, I generally only have my mic on and the other players unmuted if I know them. I know it sucks and it shouldn't be that way but people constantly saying racist and homophobic things gets old after a while.

I only have communications lines open for friends list.

Muted everyone else since probably MW2.

I don't mind the occasional trash talk, but what sucks is many people play music or have a terrible headset or connection with static sounds or echos. And that goes on all game.

I guess I can leave everything open and only mute the guy with bad audio quality, but too much work.

-Everyone in party chat
-Nobody wants to play as a team anyway

Too many kiddies who care about nothing other than k/d. In BF1 you don't even need a mic, just a good squad leader. On console though, nobody follows them. I always take squad leader (because nobody gives orders) and start giving simple orders. Attack this point. What happens? Everyone goes off in random directions.

Few people know even how to play a team shooter. I don't really get it. You're going to attack some point, why not all hit the same one? Instead they go off solo and die. Nobody even seems to care about the points boost from following orders?

In BF1 I boot people from the squad for not following orders and end up with an empty squad.

Gamers just wan to play THEIR way and nothing else, even if it means losing.

What I find funny is the guy that will sit in one spot the entire time and still not do well. Next match they are doing the same thing. Why keep playing the way you do if it doesn't work?

Oh man, Wolf King, Lowdru, Kerosene, Intelli, JinCa, Rollins, Vall. I know every damn name here. Where the hell have I been?

I guess they are just not refined enough. lol

They need to just stick to TDM, or even better COD or Gears.

Yeah honestly I'm not good enough to worry about K/D ration, I'm worried about the objective :) but you are right, too many people want to make EVERY mode team death match and it makes no sense.

That's how it is on every game. Party chat, a blessing and a curse. It ruined the chance of meeting a lot of people on Live because nobody talks anymore. They just go into party chat and shoot the s*** with their friends who aren't even playing the same game. I don't even bother plugging my mic in anymore unless i'm playing with friends because nobody talks anyway.

Don't play Battlefield but when you get paired up with randoms and nobody is communicating and then you play against a 5 man squad on Gears 4 that's all partied up you're going to get your ass kicked every time. Ruins the game really. At that point i just focus on myself, i know we're going to lose the game but as long as i get MVP it was worth it.

Since the Russian DLC released I've actually been talking to people in my squad. It's a beautiful thing when we're working together and calling out targets.

That's what is weird about BF, k/d doesn't make you a good player. Some sniper will camp off somewhere and go 30-5, but be useless to his team (you can see these people on top of the team score for the losing team every time).

BF isn't a game where individual skill really carries people like it does in other games. You want to be working towards objectives with every life. You don't want to give your life away cheaply, but k/d isn't a good indicator either. The "best" players are the ones who stick with their squad and work as a team.

I boot snipers from my squad if they just spawn, go prone and never move.

My K/D is horrible in Battlefield but I usually finish mid pack because I turn over flags all the time. I just play conquest.

Yep, objective kills are super valuable. That's what k/d ignores. Score per minute is much better (although that can be cheesed but most don't).

30-5 and still lose the match because they don't PTFO! It's so frustrating.

Yep, honestly I play so little BF1 on console because of it. People are dumb, and they don't even know they are dumb.

That's why I take over squad leader anytime I play. Nobody issues orders so just "request order" and it will eventually give it to you. Then, next time I die I look for scouts and look for where they are on the map. Ones off in the middle of nowhere get the boot.

We still lose, but eventually you might have a few people actually following orders. They don't even need a mic, just use the tools in game and follow orders. You order people to attack A and they all run for the opposite one just to spite you.

I miss the days when a whole lobby would be on chat and it erupted to endless s*** talking. Good times.
