Sony too show a Switch like device to weeks beefour Switch launches?

Whats it matter if you are impressed?
Devs already used this to achieve a 30% increase.

Because you've pushed it so hard. It's nothing like a real 8.4TF. That would be a true monster.

It isn't even simulating 8.4 anyway, and since the majority of variables in modern games are 32 bit it makes this feature kind of pointless.

If you made a 16 bit game to take advantage of these feature it would likely look worse than a traditilnal modern game.

Not true the modern games that use it look great and more will follow.
What modern games? Maybe a few indies are mostly half points but not many. 16bit graphics haven't been relevant for decades. I am not saying mdern games have have no half points either, just that they are not used in abundance...and why would they be?

Also , 30% more performance and 40% more powerful are very different things.

BF1 and ASSEffect come to mind and no

A 30% performance increase with the possibility of getting higher is significant especially when X is 40% more powerful.

You argued ps4 was 50% more powerful than Xb1, yet the gpu gap is higher between X1X and pro. So much spin.

Here's the deal, the technique isn't an overall % increase, it doesn't bolster the resolution and fps, in some cases you'll see 30% performance but that's BEST case scenario and only in limited scenarios. Not only that, only some developers will use it. Its such a limited, maybe, probably, possiblity that no one buys it. Sorry, even the most flamboyant sony fans on Neogaf are as optimistic as you about this.

DICE is a wizard developer and used the technique, if there was 30% gains, it was pretty lame.

MS has the power and if anything, their superior software tools will allow devs to push games far beyond a secret sauce.

I argued a 50% difference was shown at times with PS4 vs XBO comparisons over 40% in specs but not quite 50%.
X is 40% better than Pro
without taking into account RPM which claims up to 8.4 TF's which is the actual best case scenario according to the actual specs.
No need to spin when the specs are available for all to read.
DICE didn't create it AMD did around 2012 but its still relativity new and being promoted for there new Vega GPU's with upcoming games using the tech like Wolfenstein and Far Cry 5 to name a couple.
That's PC but Cerny has said the Pro was made to use Vega features like RPM.
DICE getting 30% already is impressive and with upcoming games using the tech the future looks bright.
We know Sony's 1st parties pull off all kinds of tricks already so imagine what they will do with it.

They should do a PS Pro one too. But it looks better than that Minecraft Xbox.

What I don't like is how hard it is to see the car from a distance in the box art. At first glance it almost looks like a Mass Effect bundle.

The console looks fine, but agree they should have a Pro version.

So I wonder if it would be a good idea to have the same version of every sku. So let's say there is an Uncharted 5 PS4 (or even just an UC5 bundle), should they always make a PS Pro version of the same thing?

GT Sport PS Pro
GT Sport PS 4

Both with the same game and the same console customization and colors.

You're bringing nothing new to the table here, just talking about stuff no one else is. "Maybe" it'll simulate here and there. Cenry said this, DICE did something supposedly that didn't show much. Ok.

Doesn't work like that with it simulating the 8.4 TF's.
In its early stages 30% has been achieved we can expect even more increases as devs get familiar this technique.
The Rapid Packed Math/FP16 tech is very real.

The good news is they should be able to get familiar with it since it's already available on PC cards, that is, if anyone has GeForce FX cards from 2003 lying about.

Yeah, I had to zoom in to figure out what was going on with the space man.

Figured it was some futuristic Sony cod piece.

I have a 5900 still. Now I'm excited.

Don't see why not.
