Just bought Soul Calibur V about a couple of weeks ago (yeah, I'm late but still got it). I never got the chance to play III and IV, however I felt like V is bit rushed. The story mode can be beaten within 2 hours and, after that, I just, basically, fight a lot of fighters in Offline Battle Mode. That's it. Indeed the single-player is very lacking. Where did the mission mode go? The mission mode is what made the first Soul Calibur more fun and enjoyable on Dreamcast.
What turns me off the most is the A.I. My God. I can't STAND 'em at all! They know what's my next move and thus, they block my every move and beat the crap out of me as soon as I hit the ground. I seriously don't remember being like that in the first game of Soul Calibur. Where's the story/B.I.O. for new fighters? There's a lot of them that I do not know at all.
Seriously, man. What's going on?!?
The developers need to step up more and do better in VI (if there's ever a plan for it in the future).
