So here we are. We've moved. It was talked about for a while but it happened in a flash. I still can't believe we're no longer at Teamxbox. It's been bittersweet. While I'm sad that we've come to an end of an era, I'm excited for the future. This has been a hectic and extremely busy endeavor but I've enjoyed every minute of it.

Leaving behind Teamxbox opens the doors for more opportunity for us. We have a far more functional and feature rich forum software. There's no worrying about if the site stay up or will IGN pull the plug. We can just focus on the future and build upon the awesome community we have here.

It's been just over a week but it feels like it's been months since we launched. The site looks completely different from the generic site I put up that first day. I almost can't look at the stock Xenforo theme. It seems so dated compared to what the forums look like now. It's like night and day. Every time I log in I can't help but smile at how far we've come in such a short period of time.

I'm not sure what the future holds but I have ideas where I see us going. Some are lofty but I don't see any reason why we can't reach them. As the weeks and months pass I hope to continue to add to the site feature and content wise. Some of the ideas I have are are a front page that will have news stories, reviews, in-depth looks, op-ed and the likes. If the site starts generating revenue, I'd also like to run contests from time to time giving away games and other game related items as a way for me to give back to the community and say thanks.

This community has the potential to strive and grow and I'm going to do my very best to try to help it, but, it won't be possible without your help. The community has been great and has helped me get to this point. Everything from Anderson being the PR person without me asking to meance-uk- making the stock threads that we're accustomed to, the community has helped build this site and I thank each and everyone of you.

Thank you everyone and thank you for coming along for the ride.

- Pretty much all the regulars transitioned over to Union
- Haven't seen any spam. I didn't realize how much spammy crud littered TXB after we all ditched it. Way more than I thought
- The site looks nicer and includes better posting tools
- The site has gone through all kinds of tweaks and adjustments with many coming from all of us users tossing out ideas
- The site (so far) is more civil
- It may be a different site, but to me still feels like TXB. The people make it so

A+

By the PV, despite the site being new get hold of various game companies and simply tell them about the site and tactfully ask for any promotional material they may be able to donate. Trust me, it's out there. Even the modest site I work on has got freebies. :) All my buddy had to do was....... send them an email, introduce himself and the site and boom. A nice reply and some free stuff.

Ask and you shall receive!

The basic layout and functionality of this place is a million times more user friendly imho than TXB ever was. Ya did good.

I have always sung the praises of two message board softwares; IP.Board and XenForo. Plainview, you did great, and I can't wait to see what the future holds here.

Your first State of the Union address. Nice.

I think this site is doing amazingly well. 95% conversion rate from TXB. We are humming. TXB is full of tumbleweeds and is a fading memory. Truth is, I really don't miss it at all. It's the community that is great, and the community is right here. And this place is so much nicer.

I share your hopes for the front page. With as many active, intelligent, dedicated, and enthusiastic members as we have here, I don't see why we couldn't pull it off.

I just wish you had more of a crew to help you. I know it's a lot of work, and I know there's more ahead. But at least you seem like you're enjoying it.

Oh god, I'm in marketing. Someone shoot me.

j/k, I'm happy to talk up the site. I'm proud of it. I think we've got something really good going here.

Coming from being staff at a very large site I can say, so far this is the most fun I have had on a forum in years. I will gladly do whatever I can to encourage growth and promote the welfare of the forum and it's staff.

Thank you very much for setting the place up and making it what it is.

maybe as i was only a txb member for a couple of years (which is a fraction of some of the long-term guys) that the switch hasn't hit me as hard, but really i don't miss the site at all. the community and conversation is what matters and now the union has them both, personally that's what i hope remains going forward

thanks plainview for leading the charge, and thank you everyone else who helped/is helping

Amazing job PV! I was kind of dreading the transition and how it might go, but it could not have gone better imo. I love the new look and functionalality, and of course the community! This remains the only forum I am even a member of - I don't have a lot of free time, so I only roll with the best!

Thank you.

I too would like to add my thanks to the staff and especially PV for making us this new forum to migrate over to. On a sadder note TXb is currently getting spammed to death.

sadly, at the forum I was CM of, the members didn't give two craps about the staff. They insulted us, berated us for trying to do things, and generally hated me and the staff under me.

All for doing our jobs LOL

Thankless life it is sometimes ;)

Don't bring them all over here with you! ;)

Place is looking great. Plenty of nice little features. Plenty of members. Lots of discussion going on. Has been a very good start.

Good work Plainview ;) and all those contributing in various ways:)

I knew it!!

but seriously, well done -- I said "meh" at the previous two TXB exoduses (I guess I never really had the angst)

the time was definitely right, and yikes, peeking at TXB now is like some psychotic bot freak show so I can only imagine how monotonous clearing spam must have become

and I mean, screw IGN

It's a great site! There really isn't any other video game forum community that has great news threads, thought-provoking discussion, and just a general passion for video games, no matter the platform.

I've always come to this community since 2005 for my video game news. Somehow or another, TXB vets always broke news faster than other sites did.
