Great video! Some of the concerns voiced from developers, are warranted, in that they could lose their homes/livelihoods, but if I were served a meal at a restaurant that was garbage, I wouldn't pay for it, nor should I have to.
The otherside though, is just like every producer/invester/financial backer, is that you're gambling on the return of an investment.
Personally, I've never backed a kickstarter or their ilk, partly because I don't keep my ear to the ground to find out about them early enough, and also partly because I don't find the pay off to be worthy of the risk.
You choose to risk your money, that's your choice... But if the developer short changes the deal, they deserve to have their computers/cars/walls sold to reimburse a failure to meet their end of the deal.
And people will exploit this? Who can be bothered.
