Official Thread Street Fighter 5

The strangest thing about Tomb Raider is the E3 Game Informer only listed it for X1. This was before the announcement too. Perhaps this was known? Even though folks just assumed it was multiplatform was it ever actually said?
What ever the outcome I have all three systems, no loss for me. :)

I guess because noone knows how long the timed exclusive is supposed to be, I just wish they'd go ahead and confirm it already. Sony disclaimed it as console exclusive from the get-go announcement. I think MS just wants to keep consumers guessing as to whether they should wait or not and hoping that gamers won't wait and just go ahead with the X1 version.

Chances of TR coming to PS systems is zero as MS is publishing it. But nobody knows if that deal also pertains to any kind of Rise of Tomb Raider Special Edition a year later. MS may not have exclusivity rights to all Rise of Tomb Raider products.

As for the GI article. If GI printed that info before announcement, then it means they knew about it already. Magazines can get info beforehand, which they get primed and ready for print. Similar to how video game makers making a new comic based or animated movie can somehow time releasing a game the same time the movie gets released. They get all the info they need two years earlier from the licensor.

Strategy tip books are the same. The print publisher must somehow be working 24/7 with the dev team to know all the details of the game. For games like Skyrim it must be years in the making. Then there must be a cut off date, then to print. Release date is probably around the same time as the game.

That's neat that Microsoft is co-publishing the Xbox version of Tomb Raider. I wonder if Street Fighter will end up a timed exclusive like Tomb Raider or be a permanent deal.

SFV will be console exclusive on the PS4 but a Turbo edition may head towards the X1.

He just couldn't resist, lol. Sony is his mortal enemy and ND is his nemesis.

Not surprising really because ND is one of the top studios out right now and because they develop for Sony exclusively, he probably views them as one of MS's greatest threats so he had to make them one of his #1 targets.

The stink of desperation was obvious with that thread.

Xbox gaming executive Phil Spencer has responded to the announcement that Capcom's fighting gameStreet Fighter V is coming exclusively to PlayStation 4 for its console release.

He says on Twitter that Microsoft can't win every business deal, and that he'd rather invest in Killer Instinct, Microsoft's own fighting game franchise.

"Business deals happen," he explained to a fan. "We won't do all of them. When we have a 1st party franchise in a genre I'd rather invest in ours."

Spencer added that, while Microsoft will make exclusive business deals from time to time--Dead Rising 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider are two examples--the company also sees owning IP as of paramount importance.

"There is a mix of deals to do," he said. "But making sure we own IP [that] Xbox gamers love is critical [in my opinion]."

Where did you get that from?
"We won't do all of them." He'd rather invest in Killer Instinct. Sounds like Capcom approached MS first which makes sense considering SF has been played on the Xbox platform for years at tournaments and MS has the deeper pockets. Unfortunate for me that MS didn't pull the deal because I will need my SF fix when this drops and I'll probably have to get a PS if there's a usable controller.

PC is also a feasible option. You can think about it. Aracde stick for it also cheap. I have one for 30bucks, & still working fine.

For some reason I cannot find it in the US Amazon store, but you see it here
Amazon product

Its possible but I think you are reading too much into it. Its just some spin really.

It would cost more to get a pc to play it than a ps4. I'd never use the PC for anything else also.

You do not work on PC? Photoshop, video editing, write your novel, planning to take over the world...stuff?

This isn't true. MS admitted that Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusivity has a duration. I'm guessing it'll show up on PS4 in Q1 2016. If MS had a long term deal in place they would announce it like Sony did with Destiny DLC.

Ygrin:
Mac Pro 1,1. The OG baby. Still going strong. Had to do my first fix on it a few weeks ago. The video card went down and had to get a new one. Back to being a beast that it is.

MS should help Capcom bring Powerstone back. It's a different enough fighter for me to justify focusing on something other than KI IMO.

During Playstation Experience, they said Capcom approached PS to set up the deal. Could've been PR talk but that's what was said.

I know that. PS was probably the second choice.

That's just pure speculation. What we do know is that Yoshinori said when they were thinking of the next iteration of SF, they reached out to PS. Go to 1:07 of the video.

"It was clear to match the passion of SF fans around the world, we needed the combined strength of Capcom and Playstation..."
