I just bought it too, played it for about 20 minutes and enjoyed it, I'll be getting into it more tomorrow.

Considering getting it on X1. Would love to hear impressions here.

Loving it so far. More on the arcade side than sim, but enjoy being in cockpit mode and it feels good to play a starfighter again. I could probably take or leave the whole Gundam thing, but I enjoy it quite a bit overall.

I have the original and expansion on PC. Kind of disappointed it's a complete new game and not an update for original users. Plus side is they are offering the game for like $3 for current owners but really it should have been a free update.

The videos I’ve seen look pretty cool and my only worry is how tight the controls are. I’ve seen what looked like intense dogfights and I would hate to have to fight the controls during high action sequences like that. I also wonder if this has some sort of upgrade system or ship customization options.

Controls are very good if not great and at the very least forgiving. There is an upgrade system, but nothing too detailed. You can unlock/chose from 4 different ships that get upgraded based on accomplishing goals (I could be wrong on how the upgrades are unlocked as I am not far along). You can also choose from a few different weapon loadouts before each mission. Again, not a ton of depth here, but enough to keep it interesting.

Thanks for the impressions. The more footage I see the more it makes me think about how I want a Warhawk game with a campaign. This looks like what I had envisioned a Warhawk campaign should be like. A ship with agile performance characteristics systematically taking down large capital ships with dogfighting mixed in.

I’m just not sure which platform to purchase it on. Its discounted for me as a PSN+ member but I kind of feel like the X1 controller would be better suited to a fast paced title like this. And then there is the lingering thought that this will hit PSN+ freebie status in the not to distant future. It would be cool if Sony offered an alternative game when the PSN+ giveaway is for something you already own.

I don't see this going to PS+, it's too niche. I guess it's possible though.

Below are two reviews I found and neither of which are glowing in praise. But they do offer some insight for those curious about this game like I am. Its funny but even with the mostly mediocre impressions from the two posted reviews I’m still very interested in this game. I think its because I have been wanting a flight combat game for a long time and this is the closest thing yet to satisfy the desire to fly around and shoot things. If I get this I know I’ll be taking a chance and mine as well limit my exposure by going with the discounted PS4 version that saves me like $5.

I bought it. It's not bad. I only played one mission so far though. I found it a bit difficult to control the ship and the dog fights get seriously fast and frantic. It kind of reminds me of colony wars.

Its an ok game. It satisfies my thirst for a flight combat game in a limited way. But there is nothing special here and its also one of the ugliest game I've played in recent memory.

If you're a PS4/X1 owner like myself. I would suggest you get this on the PS4 provided that you're also a PSN+ member because membership takes $5 off the price saving you some money.

I wish this had a blockbuster budget to increase its overall presentation and content. But even that happened this game probably would have flopped hard even though I would have bought it. I guess the indie scene is the only place where we will get games outside the popular space of shooters and RPGs.
