Yes, I spoiled much of the story so that has helped, but reviews are better than expected!
Well, I had the bad combo of gift cards and zero self control so I bought it yesterday and took the New Zealand trip to play early. I’m shocked but so far I’m having a blast. The gameplay is just sooo fun.
Though I’ll also say I’m maining Deadshot, and he is so well designed with the jet pack. Just a blast using it to fly around, snipe a couple enemies, then hover over them and drop grenades.
I’ve switched to Harley a couple times but can’t get used to the swing mechanic yet, so had a lot less fun with her.

Story wise.. why not just a different universe rather than the Arkham series.
Interested in this one for sure, just don't have the funds on me for new game purchases right now. Game looks cool though, and I've been avoiding cutscenes. The DC games have typically been quite a bit of fun. Hope Rocksteady pulls out of this alright.
Yeah, in my mind it’s a different universe. I just can’t pair this Batman with the one from the Arkham games.
Edit: Also, it’s easy to take that mindset because I’m sure this game isn’t getting a sequel lol
I can’t wait to get back to playing after my daughter goes to bed tonight. I’ve only played a few hours but I’m pretty hooked on the gameplay loop.
It’s going to be fun using the different characters too, as they each seem to have a learning curve. I was surprised that you could jump between them whenever you wanted in single player.

This is pretty fun so far. Looks great at times.

Early days. Hopefully the missions mix it up a bit. But has a Crackdown feel to it.

It’s interesting, I definitely see the flaws people are complaining about and agree with them. The enemies are generic, the missions are repetitive, the story should not have been set in this universe, the hud can be a mess, and the armor and weapon modification systems seem easier to just ignore.
However, I’m all in on the gameplay loop. The characters all play pretty different, and the movement and gunplay are just fantastic imo. I also love Batman constantly talking trash over comms, and really all the interactions/cutscenes between the characters have been entertaining. I’ve been getting a steady flow of new weapons too which helps keep me hooked.
If the boss fights are enjoyable it’s gonna be a really fun story mode I think.
I switched about 98% of the HUD stuff off before I even started the game. Only thing I see is the marker to my objective.
