Cruz talked for 21 hrs to defund Obamacare, which is literally impossible, they dont have the votes and Obama has veto power.

That didnt stop Mr.Cruz to make a fake filibuster and a talking campaign for 21 straight hrs, ending at 1pm which coincidentally is the same time he was scheduled to phone in Rush Limbaugh and did.



This man is an idiot.
 
It actually looks like it'd be pretty funny. Just such random talking.

And before the Repugs on this board jumps in and start wailing about Pug-lousy etc. Yeah, Dems got Pug-lousy, but did she ever acted this stupidly? so stupid that she's willing to take down a law even at the expense of the country and the party? That is what Cruz is doing and now, even some Republicans are fed up with the antics.
 
Honestly, this law seems convoluted.

Right now, I'm unemployed while attending college full time. So does Obamacare give me coverage or something in 2014? Or does it just mandate I somehow have to buy health insurance lol?

Sometimes I think seriously about moving to Canada. If you want government medicine do it that way.
 
There may be some kind of student exemption or student program, or if you're 26 or under you can get on your parents plan. Otherwise I think the assumption is you will either pay for insurance on an exchange or you'll pay the tax penalty. Of course, if you're unemployed you very well may not be paying taxes so you may not have to pay the penalty, although you would be uncovered. And so to summarize, I have no idea.

BTW I'm 37. Yes I'm starting over again trying to get another career going with an IT degree.

I remember when Obamacare was put into place I read a ton of comments around the net from people saying things like "this sucks, I am moving to Canada" LOL
 
Well yeah. If you want government healthcare why not do it like Canada instead of this weird mandate thing. Cut out the Insurance Profit and make the Government the Single Payer and the Hospitals the provider. Cut out the middle man to save money.

I've lived in Canada all my life so I probably take somewhat free healthcare for granted
 
Lol, Ted Cruz said something about trying to defund the military to try and stop Obamacare. That's when I knew this guy was in deep shit.
 
I have more respect for this guy then the people that voted for it and didn't know what was in it.
 
The military is basically the Republican equivalent to Socialism Stimulus in a way.

Obama throws the "Stimulus" money and dubious infrastructure.

Republican throw money at even more questionable Military spending and war. Though to be fair, Obama seems to be a fan of the Drone tech.
 
If my healthcare prems go up at my job because of Obamacare, I will be pissed beyond.
 
He must have been given the green light by some of the moderate reps who wanted to show what an idiot he can be.

Funny thing is that the point of the story is that you cant say you don't like something until you try it, he's trying to kill Obama care before its implemented.

Yeah, I remember thinking that when he read it.

Anyways, I don't think he's taking the right approach by threatening the entire U.S. Government with shutdown if they don't delay Obamacare. That stuff has got to stop, no matter what the situation is. It's law, whether you like it or not.

Besides, the bad things about Obamacare are starting to show themselves on their own without the help of Republicans. It's one of the few issues in which Republican's are on the majority of American's side, and they don't need to ruin their chances at gaining the Senate by shutting the government down and everyone blaming them for it.

Seems like every time Republican's are poised to take the advantage, they do something extremely stupid to ruin it.
