The Amazing Spider-man 2 reveal trailer!

Looks good! I really liked the first game. I'm hoping they made some meaningful enhancements to the webslinging.

Straight from the website. Platforms this will release on:

X1 and Xbox 360
PS4 and PS3
Wii U and Nintendo DS
PC via Steam

Pretty much everything. Looking forward to it. Never played any Spidey games this gen, might finally get around to one as I've heard good things about the previous games and it seems like Beenox is becoming better and better at developing it.

 GTFO with that s***... I can´t believe Activision still make these.

Some parts of the movie were filmed in the city I currently live in. Does that mean my city will be in the game too!?

I saw that video earlier, made me consider a PS4(I'm a huge Spiderman fan since the age of 10),though it does look last gen in spots. So this is X1 also eh? Made my decision allot easier on which to buy. If they could just add in better lighting and add more life to the world it would be perfect. Looks good though.

no super hero games hold a candle to rocksteady's arkham games in my book, this doesn't look like something thats gonna change my mind, I'll wait for arkham knight...

Will buy of course.
There's a lot of pop-in with that Developer Walkthrough, so I'm hoping they iron it out a little before launch (or the next gen versions are improved).

It's better, Batman is pretty linear with pretty stale combat, it gets a little boring but a few interesting areas save it. Not sure of the 2nd batman game, haven't played that one, but the mechanics are pretty simple with its hide and dive gameplay. Structure is a pretty good bit better in infamous. Not sure what there is to laugh your butt off about though.

Batman is a little over hyped though, so not surprised to see people feel it's a little better than it actually is though. Take batman and characters out of it, and it would be liked a lot less if you did the exact same thing in it, that's the idea. Batman is cool, so I sort of get it.. people like batman and that makes it feel better.

I didn't play through the 2nd one so maybe some of those things were addressed, so I can't speak for the sequel.

All I remember of the first game is enter room, jump up and hang around on something randomly, drop down do some punches, rinse and repeat. Infamous basically does that, but with other things thrown in, I'd have to assume fans of either would like the other (again, could be a batman thing) that creates that lore.

Spider-Man movies and games are all pretty bad (as are most the x-men, iron man , fantastic four) movies. Should be a lot better, but they aren't created to create the look and feel of the books.

Nope to me Uncharted is overhyped started playing Uncharted 2 and never finished it. Meanwhile Batman Arkham Asylum and City were 2 of my favorite games last gen, it was actually fun, the combat was awesome. Uncharted's gunplay was horrible.

Uncharted is not a superhero game :)

Batman's combat is pretty standard though,

Batman and UC2 are both a little bit over hyped. Both solid in some ways.

Ehh I'm not going to argue, you can't change my opinion, Batmans combat is awesome.
You haven't even played Arkham City, you can't take its great reviews and GOTY awards that it deserved away.

This game looks bad, but shows glimpses of how great a Spidey game could be. Some capable developer needs to rescue the Web Slinger from the movie tie-in hell he's been doomed to.

I don't focus on reviews, COD gets pretty good scores too, as does UC while some other games are lower. I never look at reviews, and it's a silly way to judge a game. Some reviewers have poor taste, some reviewers are obviously influenced. I may could find a reveiwer I agree with more, but to combine review scores isn't something I would do. KS SF is more of a 4, and I'm sure those reviews were spot wrong. If I, TD, Intellivision start reviewing games are you going to start taking my reviews seriously as well? I'm sure some of the reviewers are far more biased tahn me.

Maybe shouldn't say never look at reviews, I see them. Know them, but I don't focus on them in anyway. I'd rather look at a video read about what the game is or what it's like to form an opinon of playing it. Sometimes if the game is not very well known a review can somewhat tell you what the game is, but I think that is incase there is a welcome or unwelcome surprise in a game. Such as Brutal Legend, seems great on the outside and the first few hours but does get really dull half way on.

Reviews rarely influence me either, typically i'm decided on buying a game long before it's reviewed anyways. I'm personally not much of a fan of infamous though in general. I found the 'climbing' mechanic tedious and boring, and all the combat felt like a dull shooter to me, I played through the first one but don't think I ever beat the 2nd, which, admittedly I enjoyed more than the 1st, though clearly not enough to bother finishing...

IMO, the arkham games have the best melee combat centric gameplay I've ever played. The beauty of it is in it's 'simplicity' as thats what makes it easy to use but there is actually a fair amount of depth to it as well. The varied enemy-types that require specific moves or gadgets to be used keep mixed group encounters challenging to seamlessly go from enemy to enemy. If you never played Arkham City, you didn't get to see the better implementation of quickfire gadgets and the new moves that really improved combat over asylum's. Arkham City is definitely one of my top 5 games of that generation...

maybe I'm wrong in some way but I sort of enjoyed the stylish combat of the matrix games. Maybe if I revisited them I would find it horrible.. not sure.

I don't mind the climbing of infamous, it made it feel kind of structured and grounded. Something I thought prototype didn't have.

I will give the next batman game a try, for sure. Especially with it being free next month. Im more interested in the new game, to see how they handle the driving though.

Looks like it'll be epic. Spider-Man games are really fun. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be a day one purchase for me!
