Went and watched it again today, took my oldest son this time. I was surprised how much he loved the entire film. He’s a big MCU movie and shows fan so I thought he might find some of it too slow. Man the cinematography and musical score is so damn good. When it hits HBO Max I’ll definitely watch it again.
Same. Saw it again today. As you said, the score and cinematography is spectacular. Surprised nobody talked about how it drew inspiration from westerns also. There’s a lot of influence drawn from multiple genres and it all blends well together. It also has some Se7en feel to it as well.
Hopefully it gets some love next time come award season in a few categories.
I think it is better than the 1st and 3rd for sure. I think the Joker one is debatable. I'd put this latest movie in the same class for sure. Hard to beat the one with Joker though.
Not comparable really. Completely different types of movies. Both great (The Dark Knight Trilogy as a whole) in their own regards.
Agree with PV it is different and great in its own right compared to the greatness of Dark Knight.

Cool. I'll check it out again on HBO. Maybe now I'm over the disappointed of what it isn't I can enjoy it for what it is.
Any Irish here? Would think it would take some insane level of intoxication to be put in a cell in the Celtic isles.
Reminds me of Heath's Joker, but creepier and grotesque. I love it. I hope we see more of this actor's Joker in the future.
