So anybody still playin DI these days? I noticed a lack of an official thread and figured I'd throw this out there. I can't be the only one still playing!

I must say I am STILL quite enamored with this game/games! For reasons I can't quite put my finger on. I guess Elder Scrolls+Zombie Apocalypse+uber satisfying and brutal combat= Fun? There really isn't anything else out there quite like it. I mean it's certainly not perfect, but just one of those few games I can never seem to get tired of.

So I guess I AM the only one. lol :txbconfused:

Well I was really hoping to get some multiplayer action going on Riptide.

I'll check and see if I still have it kicking it around. I had so much fun co-op in this game, in spite of some pretty bad net code in the beginning and need of overall polish, I really liked Dead Island.

Escape Dead Island Coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC This Fall [Updated with Trailer]
http://www.xboxachievements.com/new...-and-PC-This-Fall-[Updated-with-Trailer].html

Deep Silver has announced 'Escape Dead Island', yet another chapter in the ever-growing zombie franchise that started with the first Dead Island and its follow-up Dead Island Riptide. It'll also be returning in Dead Island 2, and now Escape Dead Island, which is billed as a more stealth-driven survival game that deals in surreal moments and mystery.
In development at Swedish studio Fatshark, whose previous work includes Lead & Gold and Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2, Escape Dead Island will feature more of an emphasis on narrative and strategy, in a story that takes place following the events of the very first game. It also promises psychedelic trips and bizarre, surreal occurrences.
You and your friends will be seeking to discover the origins of the outbreak in a single-player third-person adventure, starting off with no equipment or weapons, and no immunity to the zombie virus. You'll have to rely on your wits and what few resources you can scavenge, while tackling zombies in a more stealthy fashion. Get surrounded, and you're as good as dead.
Escape Dead Island is scheduled to launch this autumn for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC for $39.99/£39.99.
Update You'll find the announcement trailer below and screens in the gallery.

Not sure about this, i usually like the dead island games but just not feeling good about this game.

Wow, last gen is really showing its age with this one. Some of those scenes look straight outta the OGXB...

Same here, loved the first DI, though this just isn't doing it for me :(

Agreed, I loved DI 1 was good, wasnt too keen on riptide although had some good improvements but still not as good as the original. This one i just not sure how well it will turn out, i will wait for reviews before i decide on trying it.

This looks like some No More Heroes of Dead Island. I wonder why the change and why no nexgen versions when DI2 is set to release on those platforms? Looks interesting. It's been a while since I've played a demo, but I might just give it a shot in that department when it comes out.

Wow, game looks terrible :( IDK how I feel about the cell shaded direction for the game.

The game looks dumb. They added a cel shading as a gimmick it seems. There was barely any gameplay in that new trailer to top it all off. I suspect they took the combat meant for a first person game and slapped it onto a third person one.

Might pick it up. The first iterations suffered from glitches and performance issues, so this could really improve visuals and gameplay.

The first Dead Island was so much fun co-op, despite the glitches and sometimes horrible performance. I never played Riptide though.

I wouldn't mind this. Haven't played dead island at all. I suppose if I play it I'd want to play the definitive version on xbox one.
