Saudi Arabia is trash, I do think one of these guys sticks up for Israel a bit too much though, they deserve the crap from those of us on the left.

16 of the 19 9/11 terrorists came from Saudi Arabia, that should really give pause to anyone thinking they are really our allies. The MBS love fest was really gross looking back at it.

Agreed about Israel the current government there is committing a slow genocide against the Palestinians and the mainstream media really just says pretty much nothing.

Meanwhile there are shots fired in Crimea. Good thing we don't have a President being investigated for colluding with one side.

f***ing psychopaths.

I love how his so-called denials are quasi admission of guilt. Does he even have a competent lawyer left at this point or just Rudi?

Is he really asking why the investigation isn't talking to people who didn't do anything wrong?

He may be right. Cops should be investigating people completely unrelated to crimes. It's a great use of time and taxpayers money.

Twitter Trumpers are hilarious. There was someone arguing with one of the alt-* twitter accounts against global warming (right after the government report came out and shows how screwed we are) saying that all the planets in the solar system are getting warmer (that tweet was since deleted).

These people were conned by Trump, and now they are too proud to admit it so they just double down on the stupid.

I HATE to stick up for anything involving Trump but the media is really being dishonest in their reporting on what happened yesterday. Every headline points out tear gas being fired at women and children and most headlines I've seen use that same awful picture of a mother with her children running from the gas. They don't seem to point out that it was mostly men charging the guards or that the people were throwing rocks at the guards which prompted the tear gas being used to begin with.

Yep, this is exactly the problem. Trump wanted a circus, and he got a circus.

The reaction people have is exactly what Trump wants - people whining about if this is morally ok or not. I hate to say it, but the right wants to portray the left as "open border liberals" and they play right into that stereotype.

The debate should be about what to actually do about our border and people seeing asylum, but Trump hasn't done anything for that. Why hasn't he done more with a Republican congress to secure the border?

What legislation has anyone put forward to solve the problem? Should we change the rules for asylum status? Should we put tighter quotas? Trump has done nothing.

While I agree in part, the use of tear gas is explicitly prohibited to be used against other nations. It’s a chemical weapon. It was used against people in Mexico. It’s a crime. It’s also a crime to use it against women and children.

As far as the “caravan” goes, I am of the opinion that it needs to be dealt with. Take them in, process them, deport or accept. Nobody I know is advocating just letting them all in.

From emptywheel.net. If true, Mueller and his team are epic mother f***ers.

Now, it is true that Trump can pardon Manafort (though that probably won’t happen right away). That’s the only sane explanation for Manafort doing what he did, that he is still certain he’ll be pardoned. But many of these charges can still be charged in state court.

Just about the only explanation for Manafort’s actions are that — as I suggested — Trump was happy to have Manafort serve as a mole in Mueller’s investigation.

But Mueller’s team appears to have no doubt that Manafort was lying to them. That means they didn’t really need his testimony, at all. It also means they had no need to keep secrets — they could keep giving Manafort the impression that he was pulling a fast one over the prosecutors, all while reporting misleading information to Trump that he could use to fill out his open book test. Which increases the likelihood that Trump just submitted sworn answers to those questions full of lies.

If 45's idea was to have Manafort try and be a mole in the investigation by fake offering himself up that will be the most 80's/90's Leslie Nielson/Police Academy/Austin Powers parody style movie plot. So yea its probably an idea he got from a movie.

This was probably a test by Putin to test the response. I do expect him to make a move on the Ukraine while Trump is in office, but he's probably also waiting for Brexit to complete.

Also Ukraine has now put some areas near the borders under martial law.

I told numerous family members who were voting for Trump that he is:
-a compulsive liar
-doesn't have the temperament to handle being President
-a self-involved narcissist

All the signs were there and people went ahead anyway.

If he goes down, every benefit he would be in line to get, security for 20 years, a library, etc., needs to be scrubbed. He gets absolutely nothing.

Manafort held secret talks with Assange in Ecuadorian embassy, sources say
Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort held secret talks with Julian Assange inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London, and visited around the time he joined Trump’s campaign, the Guardian has been told.
Sources have said Manafort went to see Assange in 2013, 2015 and in spring 2016 – during the period when he was made a key figure in Trump’s push for the White House.
It is unclear why Manafort would have wanted to see Assange and what was discussed. But the last apparent meeting is likely to come under scrutiny and could interest Robert Mueller, the special prosecutor who is investigating alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
A well-placed source has told the Guardian that Manafort went to see Assange around March 2016. Months later WikiLeaks released a stash of Democratic emails stolen by Russian intelligence officers.
Manafort, 69, denies involvement in the hack and says the claim is “100% false”. His lawyers declined to answer the Guardian’s questions about the visits.
In a series of tweets WikiLeaks said Assange and Manafort had not met. Assange described the story as a hoax.
