Yang needs to be more forceful and interrupt when he can, the rest of them are doing it and he's one of the least known so he can't afford to be invisible on stage.
Figures. I am looking at Twitter and people are saying that they are not letting him talk.

He never interrupted or asserted himself, he's a clam laid back guy but he needs to be a little more forceful in the next one or he'll just fade into obscurity like he did tonight. Hopefully a few of them will drop out between now and then (probably not) and we'll be able to give people more than a minute. This is really a stupid way to select the leader of our country "hey I'm going to ask you a question, this is the most important job in the world so explain the way you'll lead in 60 seconds or less" lol. Maybe they should change it to 3 nights and to 6, 7 and 7?

Finished the debate. Harris had a good night. Bernie was better than I thought he would be. Biden was Biden. Bennett was decent, but he doesn't have the "it" factor. The rest, other than being comical, were nothing great. Yang is, sadly, a one trick pony. He's all about the guarantee money to everyone. While great, he didn't offer much more. Sure, didn't have a lot of opportunities, but he repeated it during his closing statement. Gillibrand wasn't bad, but she does nothing for me. She has no chance of winning, so I don't want to see her again. All of the people not listed below need to suspend their campaign and focus on house and senate seats. They're done.

Next debate should only be Warren, Castro, Harris, Booker, Sanders, Biden. That's actually the ranking I would want to vote for them in primaries.

Thought Buttigieg had a good showing last night. Havne't really been following him all too much, but out of the lesser known candidates he was top of the list for me.

Kamala Harris was great. If the primary was today I'd put her down in Virginia.

I'd include Mayor Pete also, but otherwise that's pretty close to the group I'd want to see. Most of the rest need to be running for Senate or angling for Cabinet positions or the like.

I was less impressed with Bernie, though. Honestly, right now, I see him finishing this no higher than fourth - his message is strong but he's also tending to veer into the one-note campaign (though not as badly as Yang or Swalwell, for example). The problem is that when he's running as the contrast to Hillary in 2016 with nobody else of significance that I can remember, he had a path forward and all he had to do was gather up the people disaffected with Hillary and repeating that contrast worked. But honestly, I think the first time he's on stage with Warren, people will see she's just as strong on those issues and just as willing to fight, but also stands out on other issues as well. I think it's a bad election to be a Grumpy Old White Man Democrat, and while Biden could theoretically hold on with the moderate support, Bernie has to pretty much own the left of the party and the youth to have any shot. My guess is he won't.

Unfortunately I assume we will see another 10 and 10 in July

The September debate will be harder to get into so hopefully by then we can get it down to the real contenders

I did some digging and most people are saying the his mic was muted so he can't speak.

I feel they want to keep him quite.

I had no hopes of Bernie doing a good showing. I thought he would be a crazy old man and was surprised he wasn't that bad. Buttigieg was ok. You can throw him into my list, but his town is draining him and he can't recover from that.

LOL! Just on CNN they said "We have Senator Harris live at a detention center on Florida." Gillibrand was there as well and was doing the talking. When they cut back then they realized she was there too.

Well, in Trump's Florida, we're just lucky they didn't mistake her for someone who should be on the inside of the cages.

Right now I'll be donating to Castro, Warren, and Harris. I don't see anybody garnering a donation from me until the general.

What do you mean? Don't you want bold answers to the nuclear crisis?

Bernie hasn't improved in 4 years. He just pivots everything back to Wall St Wall St Wall St

The problem with Bernie isn't his policies as much as his delivery. The GOP is so good at poisoning certain words, like they've done with socialism.

Warren says she's a capitalist, but talks about taxing the rich to pay for education and health care. That's smart. Bernie? He talks about the same thing, but does it in exactly the way the alt right wants. The alt right wants to paint everyone as an "extremist socialist" and Bernie says "Ok, hold my beer!"

Bernie also loves to do things like host these 10-15 minute (!!!) produced videos on his channels. Yeah Bernie... nobody got time for that.

I'm not necessarily in line with AOC politically, but she's the master of the modern media. Clear, concise, and consistent. You don't have to "dumb it down", but you have to keep it concise. I've seen way more information from AOC than I have from any Presidential candidate. That's because her stuff gets out there in the most efficient way.

I regret I only have one reaction to give to that post. It sums it up perfectly.

Bernie's not a Presidential candidate - he's a guy leading a revolution. He says it himself, although without mentioning that "not a Presidential candidate" thing. His biggest success has been in getting Hillary to move to the left some in 2016 and providing cover for more candidates to move to the left for 2020. But if he's not all alone on the left, I don't see how he has a path forward - and when you get debate questions about straight up abolishing private insurance and several of the other top candidates are already there, his job is done.

Eh, his mic is straight up and down, and the rest are angled towards them. If it was muted, we wouldn't hear anything. I heard "Excuse me. Excuse me," exactly how I would hear it from someone not speaking into the mic directly and standing away from it.
Yea but the guy wrote PROOF in all caps!

Dude for some reason MSNBC dont like Yang.
First they didn't post his pic on with the other candidates and now cut his mic off.

On top of that they asked him about China which I find it fishy.

It is all over the internet .

He gets his shot again in July.

He doesn't have any new arguments, but for his defense, it's still the same problems as four years ago along with a terrorist occupying the White House.

As much as I like him and appreciate all he's done I do think he needs to step aside the things he championed last time are being championed by several other candidates this time. It's not fair because he was the first one to really bring this stuff to the mainstream but he just comes across as an old grump who repeats the same things, honestly I thought both he and Biden had terrible nights, unlike Yang who only had 3 minutes of speaking time those two had a ton of time comparatively and did nothing to make themselves look better as candidates.

He wasn't really the first to bring it mainstream, though; Warren was pretty strong on this before Bernie ran. I think he's excellent at what he does, and honestly I kind of hope that he ends up in charge of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the next administration. I just don't think he's got the whole spectrum covered.

They denied it but I did notice several times he had his hand up like he wanted to be called on and they ignored him.
I think this whole thing back fired on MSNBC. The internet is on fire about Andrew Yang.

People are not dumb.

Could be that made it up to put himself on the map. Would have been smart if he did.

And it makes sense since he didn't seem to bothered by it

All I know is if they are going to do this again they need more nights with fewer people on stage so they can all have a chance to speak and spend substantial time talking about each issue. This many candidates is a nightmare I know, there are about 7 I can think of right now who should drop out like Williamson, Delaney, O'Rourke, Hickenlooper, Inslee, Klobuchar and Ryan. I'd also say Gillibrand, Bennett and Swalwell are on the bubble. If those people would drop out they could do 2 nights and really let everyone have a shot, sadly it seems Republicans are now donating to Williamson to keep her in the debates and she seems like someone who's ego won't let her bow out until she has to.

She would need to get to 2% polling to get into the September debates. I'd like to think that won't happen as she wouldn't be there based on past polling.

The July debates are a lost cause

Really should be Biden, Bernie, Beto, Pete, Warren, Harris, Castro, and Booker. Beto stunk but he at least has enough support to justify another go.
