As long as Tulsi is still running that is what matters

Its bad enough most states don't matter in the general I don't want the primary to just be who wins Wisconsin and Michigan

It's not that but the fact that the media has put so much emphasis on SC just because Biden was always going to win there and it gives them a horse race to talk about makes me glad we don't have to hear about it again. All states matter simply because each one has delegates but SC was talked about after every caucus and primary like it was the most important thing and now it's over with.

All most people in the media talked about was the Black vote, they never talk about how no group votes as one block and it was annoying. Southern Black voters are more conservative than Black voters in other areas just as southern white voters are. Latinos in Florida are more conservative than in the western states yet the media and pundits constantly lump us all into our own little groups. The line many kept trotting out was "no democrat can win the white house without the black vote" and yeah that's true but we also can't win without Latinos, Asians or Whites either, White people make up around 60% of the party. I'm hoping that they stop focusing on race as much now that South Carolina is out of the way, they probably won't but I can hope.

I think you are imagining some of that with SC. We have to hear about Iowa for 6 months.

Black people are the most reliable Democratic voters there are. Democrats putting extra emphasis on them is exactly how they will stay that way. My suggestion is Bernie should do better with them so we don't have to downplay every group or state that doesn't vote for him.

Bernie has been putting a lot of effort into winning over black voters and he has made a ton of progress especially with younger black voters. If you want to talk about downplaying let's look at what was said after Iowa and New Hampshire were over, they seemingly don't count according to many in the MSM because they aren't diverse enough. Every show from the View in the morning to evening talking heads shows on cable news basically had the same line "you can't win without the black vote" and while true it also is dismissive of every other group, if the white vote drops we lose, if the Latino vote drops in a significant way we lose, to a lesser degree Asian and Middle Eastern only because they represent a much smaller percentage of the population but we need everyone.

Saying South Carolina is in the rearview mirror now isn't downplaying anything it's just the truth, that state was always going to go for Biden and the media constantly brought it up as some kind of big test for Bernie to pass. He won't win all states and that's totally fine, my worry is people will use southern states that he loses in an electability argument when those aren't even states we'd win in November anyway. He'll struggle in the south no doubt about that, he probably won't do as poorly as he did in 2016 but he's still not likely to win any of them.

Lets not pretend Iowa and New Hampshire deserve all this attention and they got it even if some in the media defended Biden as he did poorly. Pretending they "didn't count" is hilarious. Nobody should be crying foul about the attention SC gets when the early state order has been so beneficial to Bernie. Try to imagine if SC went first (and no it shouldn't either). How different would the race look right now? THE MEDIA SPENDS MONTHS COVERING THEM SHAKING HANDS IN IOWA.

And yes discussion of the race during the early states should include mentioning that Biden has a huge advantage with black voters and that means he is still in this because South Carolina is coming. Bernie fans will complain about the media while hoping the media would declare the race over and Bernie the winner.

Iowa and New Hampshire got the attention because that's where the candidates were and they were the start of the process that's the only reason. If South Carolina went first the media would have spent months following candidates around there too.

I have no problem with the media saying it's not over because it isn't there is a long way to go and Bernie is not a lock. The problem I have is the MSM constantly downplaying when Bernie does well, hell one pundit even said that second place was more important lol.

I'm saying its not like Iowa deserves that attention so the whole nature of the early states is unfair.

Only reason is if he’s a solid in on being someone’s VP pick. Biden?

Could be a cabinet position. Bernie isn't going to offer him anything so anything he could get from Biden would be worth it. Pete doesn't fit what Biden has claimed to want for his VP not that that really means anything.

Joe Biden is the now the youngest man running in the primary.

I'm glad Pete's out but the reason he gave is BS, in poling for most super Tuesday states he didn't look to be getting any delegates anyway so he wasn't going to be helping Bernie build an insurmountable lead.

Yea I heard speculation that he bailed to save political face. It will be interesting now if he gives any endorsement. He won't endorse Sanders, endorsing Biden means he could lose the young vote in future elections and endorsing Bloomberg means he may as well switch to republican to be their gay unicorn.

Calling it now, Yang to go to Bernie for VP... if I lose I’ll buy an in n out burger for, wait, who’s in socal?

I will be expecting one of these, thank you. :p

I don't know the polling suggests a more even split than most would expect but if he gives Biden any kind of bump relative to Bernie than he is helping to keep that from happening. An even if the split was completely even it sill helps Biden be viable everywhere. Race would have been over for sure if Biden was under 15% in California.

At this point they are all just playing spoiler for Bernie or Biden and they should follow Pete's lead

He does need some kind of resume boost so unless he thinks Indiana will make him Senator or Governor he really does need Biden to win.

Good on Pete for dropping out now and not dragging it out. I wish more would follow suit.

I'm not eligible to vote in the primary in NY (not officially a Democrat) but with the vote tomorrow I would still be very much undecided. I'm not sold on Bernie or Biden and don't know if anyone else can have a late surge. I guess I should be happy Biden is rebounding, but for some reason I'm worried about that.

One thing that I like about Virginia is that you don't have to be registered in a party to vote, but I understand why some states require it for vote tampering. While I never vote red, I still don't want to be registered to any party.

Will be hitting the polls big time early tomorrow. Excited to see the Super Tuesday results.

I feel similar. I'm ok with either as President but neither are my first choice and they both make me nervous in terms of being able to win. Biden being back in it could just lead to a long messy battle that leaves whoever wins in worse shape.

Klobuchar is out. The establishment is trying hard to get Biden the nomination. Biden definitely winds Minnesota.
Surprised she didn't wait for Minnesota but like you said it's clear at this point they're trying to hold on for tomorrow.
