The money quote:
"I think right now people want to see improvements in our health care system, and that means strengthening the Affordable Care Act," she told students at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics this week, while adding that she still wants to get to single payer eventually.

She also lost her older brother to COVID-19 between her dropping out and now.

The thing is, she said at the time she was campaigning that she'd take what she could get - while Bernie would likely sit there with his thumb up his ass if he doesn't get the perfect bill, and where Biden would by default ask for too little and bargain that away, she was in it to not only aim high but deliver something. People need help now, they needed it months ago, and if it means we go with a step of expanding the ACA and hopefully at least a public option, that's help today. If the Bernie Bros can prove they can win anything other than Twitter wars, hopefully they can push the party far enough to start getting more change, but they'll probably stay home and complain how unfair it is that finishing second doesn't let them decide everything.

Its also funny how all the candidates who were trashed on and supposedly worthy of being hated were still pushing health care plans that had no shot at actually happening anyway. People that love Bernie should be praying she is the VP because how could they ever end up with a better option in that spot?

Its good that Bernie pushed the topic to the left but there are clearly a lot of people who are delusional and think Medicare 4 All would have happened if he won.

Incrementalism is bad they will say but a Bernie Presidency would have been no different. We don't elect Kings.

I was asked to give a source on how she was disingenuous about supporting progressive positions that she adopted during the primary. That's exactly what that shows. In fact, her saying that she wanted to "strengthen the Affordable Care Act" is actually to the right of Biden who doesn't seem to be compromising on his goal of having a public option.

Tammy Ducktworth seems to be a great choice for VP.

Right, somebody who was supposed to be a financial wiz like Elizabeth Warren would "know" that we "can't afford" Medicare-4-All. Of course, she didn't believe medicare-4-all was possible. Like I said she was disingenuous. What's so controversial about that?

I think Duckworth may be the smart choice for Biden to make but I am saying if the argument is about Progressive well she doesn't have a more Progressive record than Warren.

Nothing wrong with that if its consistent. As long as we point the same finger at Bernie for pushing things he knew had no chance.

It doesn't matter what someone says if they are not going to stick to it under pressure. Duckworth will be great. Conservatives can't help but to attack her. It's an easy trap.

Maybe he was being deceitful, but not in the same way as Elizabeth Warren. I think he probably would have had to raise taxes way more than what he was willing to admit during the primary in order to pay for all the stuff he was proposing, but I don't think progressives would see that as some sort of betrayal.

Bernie supporters are irrational and reactive. Of course they would have thrown their s***.

Bernie supporters are idealists, and they simply don't understand that compromise is necessary to get a better outcome. They'd rather lose to Trump over and over again than be forced to compromise with the middle. Do people want Trump and the same old broken, inefficient system (or worse if they manage to force through something like what they were planning), or the ACA restarted and maybe even improved upon?

My only guess is that they actually deep down want Trump to win, hoping that it causes everyone to flock to their side down the road. The problem is there won't be a country left to fight over if Trump wins again.

They? No, Hilary Clinton was the champion of moderates just like Biden.

I think people would have to be on the verge of total catastrophe in their individual lives before they would be willing to embrace democratic socialism.

As the Washington Post reported, "companies owned by the family of Jared Kushner... received several PPP loans. Princeton Forrestal LLC, a Kushner Cos. affiliate that bought the Princeton Marriott Hotel in 2018, received a loan of between $1 million and $2 million."

"Companies that appear to match those associated with two Trump cabinet officials also received PPP loans," according to the Post. "A company with a name matching one listed on the 2017 financial disclosure of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos received at least $6 million."

I stand by what I said a few pages back. Hang all these f***ers top to bottom.

No, you were asked to give a source that she had NO GENUINE INTENTION to do so. See:

Your words not mine. I never said she didn't come up with her own plan. I believe she was smarter than anybody when it came to coming up with plans. She just didn't have a genuine interest in following through on those plans.

If you want to beat your c*** until your tits get soggy about Medicare for All, and make that the only thing you care about, sure. If you want to be disappointed that Warren was, and still is, someone who will aim for a bigger goal but will accept a smaller win on the way when people need it, that's on you. But you are claiming she didn't even have any intention to do so, as if she was some plant put in simply to detract from the great and all knowing Bernie. f***, I like Bernie, but he couldn't beat Hillary in 2016 even excluding superdelegates, and he couldn't beat Biden when it was down to the two of them. Maybe, and I know this is hard for the subset of his followers who are a bizarro Q-Anon cult to understand, but maybe he's not the spokesperson for the majority of the country and we should instead appreciate what he does to drive us in the right direction rather than treat him as if he's Tom Hanks' magical third testicle.

Is there literally a Video or a Tweet from Trump prior to being president that contradicts every position he holds now?

Disingenuous, genuine intention... Now you are arguing semantics. Those sources apply regardless.

Her plans were incredibly far to the left last year and somehow she managed to get to the right of Biden towards the end. She claimed she was going to do a "wealth tax", gay reparations, black reparations, and free college among other things. 😆

Very strange how neoliberals are always trying to associate people to the left of them with the far right. If anything this pandemic will shuffle the deck politically more than anything Bernie could do or say.

Very strange how people who sound like they're in a cult of personality all sound like they're singing the same song with different verses.

She has jumped, according to reports, to the top if his list. She's a far superior VP candidate than Harris.

Well the source of the report of her being in serious contention still thought he would pick Harris but the GOP would have to be terrified of Biden picking Duckworth.

I would wonder if they feel compelled to pick a black VP because of the recent events. Definitely some pressure there. Probably are and were always picking Harris though.

Yeah, Kamala is trying to run a scam on Joe Biden. I'm shocked she is even in consideration at this late date.

If the Veep candidate was the one to debate Trump, if be with Harris, but I think Duckworth is a superior VP nominee.

I've never heard of Duckworth until now in this forum. At this point, anyone than Harris. Unpopular opinion here, I think, Warren should be VP.

Warren would be the best President. Duckworth to lock up the win. Harris is totally ok in my books. Plenty smart, charismatic, will annihilate Pence, and has a more progressive voting record than Warren without any existing perception of "socialism" or "radical left".

You in a few weeks

How crazy is it that i saw this and went nooooooo like it was RBG again.
